Barcelos Flame Grilled Chicken

First time here , we got the whole chicken with 2 sides for $34 , it was really good The rice didn’t have to much flavour but they have some really good hot sauces , Also a bowl for $13 , definitely coming back Also really friendly staff.

Food serving size is better than Nando's, the rice could do a bit of flavor. The chicken is char grilled and absolutely delicious, mashed potato is dry could do better if they serve gravy on it as well. Overall, a pleasant dining experience

Barcelos has great chicken, with plenty of spicy options that are quite delightful especially to someone like me that's of African descent, they also have other meal selections that are really nice, I dare say they have the spiciest chicken in Edmonton , only problem I have is the service from some bespectacled guy that takes orders there, always frowning and does not listen when customers complain, he has individually brought down this great place rating to 3 star, their calgary branch has great fresh food and better service, they seem a bit lackadaisical here in Edmonton and I think it is cos of this guy who I suspect is the manager, he is awful and needs to do better

Food is good . I really enjoyed dining in with my family but feel that the customer service has declined here. They recently switched to “No Refills,” on the fountain pop?! Any decent reputable place wouldn’t do that. Offering refills on something like fountain pop are minor details that increase customer service and give your guests a good dining experience . It’s the small details that either make it or break it for the guests so cheaping out on something like fountain pop isn’t worth it.

Not sure what their procedure is when giving sauces to customer. You are paying for grilled chicken and sauces are supposed to be added in meal. So when ever I asked them they said you have to pay for it and I did. First two times they charged me in store and did not give to me. So what they do is staple food in worse quality paper bag so that you cannot even think about opening the bag to verify what they gave to you. So today I ordered half chicken I asked about sauces this lady there didn’t tell me it comes with one sauce, she charged me extra for sauce no bill was shared again their procedure. I asked her did you place the sauces in bag and she said yes two of them. Now I come home and there are no sauces, problem is they are charging you and not giving on purpose this is how they are running their business. Three times they have done the same and I’m sure they have been doing the same to others and this needs to be stopped. I will mention their review where ever possible and this will make them change their habit of getting free money from customers.

Great food, great service. Quantity of the food was amazing, had enough for lunch leftovers. Fun environment with great back ground music, that kept the family entertained. There were nine of us, and they did a fabulous job in keep up with all our needs.

Chicken kabob was rubbery & chewy. Rice tasted like it was a day old. Was excited to try but extremely dissatisfied. Chicken wings smelled bad and had many “slimy” bites & ended up putting it in the oven at home even though I told them make sure it’s “well-done”. Never again.

Very disappointed - 1/4 chicken breast was very small, dry and chewy. Fries were just weird! Strange taste to them like they were cooked in cold old oil, also ordered a Portuguese roll that came cut into 4 and toasted so it was like breakfast toast. Only place I know that doesn’t offer refills on fountain pop, i would say that 75% of tables were dirty with used plates etc that hadn’t been cleaned up for a while

A MUST TRY: At first, I was hesitant because of my past experience with peri peri seasoning/sauces... HOWEVER, I stayed and am glad I did. The Service top self, very customer oriented and friendly. A mix of a little Portuguese, a little Latin and a little Indian vibe. AND NOW... The most important thing, the food. Exceptional, flavorful, the chicken was moist and perfectly grilled. I will definitely dine here again when I on the south side. Thank you to the staff and management for the hospitality and recommendations.

Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend for the family .10/10 shoutout to the manager very nice guy. Staff was very accommodating. Must check it out.
