Visited with a friend and loved it. Their wine list was a little daunting lots of options and different wines I did not know but they were so friendly and helped us find wines we liked. They have outdoor seating and a cute indoor space as well. This place is relaxed and approachable. I'll definitely be back.
Finally tried this place in our neighborhood. Giving it 3 stars because the wine and cheese were delicious, and the place is so damn cute. But we paid almost $60 for 2 glasses of wine and a cheese board the pours were about 2/3 of a normal serving. 20% automatic service charge for pouring wine?!! I totally get that when they have a kitchen and prepare food but this just seemed a little ridiculous. These people are making $$
Delicious and refreshingly unusual wines delivered by a knowledgeable and friendly team. This space would be great for date night or snuggled in with a book on a fall’s eve. Can’t wait to come back!
Walking by and stopped for a glass. The space inside was dark and with a couple people enjoy some wine. I ordered some sparkling wine paid 14 for the glass. Would have liked to see more options for wines from the valley but so it goes. Wine was tasty, I sat outside and enjoy the space.
Bar Norman was the perfect place to meet a couple of colleagues for wine and cheese. I parked right out front, enjoyed a lovely glass of bubbles recommended by a friendly person behind the bar, and grooved to cool motown-ish tunes in a casual-cool setting. One friend enjoyed a non-alcoholic ginger drink while the other tried a range of wines. Look forward to going back!
5/5 stars. From the moment we walked in we were treated so kindly. The sommelier helped us decide on a glass of wine but also allowed us to taste a few different wines. A great place to come for a light meal and really incredible natural wines.
Good wine, bad prices. Same story for their charcuterie board. Wine is INCREDIBLY expensive and then they add 20% gratuity on top of it. Compare to other wine shops in Portland and you'll see what I mean.
I love this place. A wonderful wine selection with friendly, knowledgeable staff who help create a lovely experience. In general I find Bar Norman to be absolutely charming.
As others have mentioned, the wine and snacks are nice. But after hearing my friend paid a 20% tip ON TOP of the included 20% gratuity I was in the restroom and found out after we walked out and he mentioned how expensive it was, I don’t think I’ll be back. Mostly, I’m just frustrated that no one mentioned the added gratuity as we were closing our tabs. I feel like it’s courteous to do so.
Great wines some of the best Riesling we have tried. They have a hifi sound system and awesome DJs. Will return!
