Had a great time there! 3 nine hole courses to choose from. Played the front white and the back blue. Fun track with some nice greens. Ground is a little harder in certain areas but it is well maintained. Not to be slept on!
Swooping down on Bantys last week, this course features, club house, putting and chipping green, driving range and 27 challenging holes. Played red and white..I really enjoyed this course, it was well layed out, long par 4s and 5s with some dog legs. Rough was Rough...dont even bother looking !! Nice scenery as well flora and fauna ...check out the white swans !! Highlight of the day is decking the par 4 288yards with my trusted Sim 3W ...first birdie of the day ...and encouragment to return.
The second time I’ve played at this course this season and I don’t understand why the rating are so low. Played a quick 9 and the pace of play, the fairways and the greens were all in great shape. Don’t go off the rating, give it a try and you don’t regret it. Not to mention there’s 3 different 9 hole courses to choose from. I’ve also been the range a few times and that was also in great shape. Will definitely be going a few more times this summer.
Bantys is Back!!! The challenging 27 hole course has returned to form! Greens are firm and fairways are crisp. Each course has it's own unique way of challenging the golfer. Will you go for it, or will you lay up seems to be the common theme for this course. Took the gang there last week and we had a blast. Cart girls were on point and the Marshalls were pleasant. We will be back!
Bantys is back baby! Management cares about the course, it is very evident. Greens are rolling great, tee boxes were well maintained. Back-house staff were very kind and helpful, and the food was great! Wish the practice range mats + grass were better kept. The mats were not very even and the grass area was over-used. Also suggest extra irrigation on super hot days like today : But will definitely be back!!
New ownership is clearly making an effort to clean this place up. While there is a long road ahead, course conditions have improved immensely. Tee boxes and fairways are good. Greens are very good. Afternoon / evening older guy in the pro shop is a stressed out, miserable mess. Paying for your round in late afternoon will take a while. The full time golf pro is really good. No cart girl yet but they are planning on adding one. The patio in the back overlooking the short par 3 has amazing potential. Needs a clean up, but the patio bar and grill is open again. Best part is the price … twilight 9 holes for $18. Weekend morning full round for $60.
I’d like to start by saying that I enjoyed playing this course. It’s great for someone of my experience level and right in my price range. First, the course, 27 holes that are challenging enough for beginners without being discouraging, and not too long to walk either. If you do decide to take a cart they have plenty available but again most are very old and struggle with any inclines. Because the course is old the cart paths have taken a beating over the years, so I would try to drive on fairways as much as possible when available. Also I’d avoid going after any major rain fall as drainage is bad and many of the holes flood on one place or another. It’s quite common that bunkers turn into water hazards, which also leaves them hard and packed for some time afterwards. The greens are fairly easy but no one seems to fix ball marks so have a look before you putt. Greens and fairways are fairly well kept but tee boxes are usually chewed up and uneven so choose your tee off location wisely. As far as ranges I use a range finder and it looks like their posted ranges can be off quite a bit so check before you hit. The staff is usually very friendly and will usually greet you with a smile. Drinks are available inside and at the outside bar, you won’t see a beverage cart all that often so be sure to stock up early if that’s your thing. This being said the recent experience I had there left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I booked a tee time with a friend from out of town on a Monday and when we got there Saturday we were told that there was a tournament and that we weren’t able to play the 18 we booked, that we MIGHT be able to get 9 holes in but there were no carts available to us. This was strange because I booked online almost a week prior and wasn’t contacted by phone or email to let me know there was an error. Instead our time/money had been wasted. I was very displeased at the amount of disrespect this showed for not only us, but anyone outside of the tournament, like our time wasn’t important. I even contacted Golflinks via their website to discuss this with them and after an initial email didn’t hear back. I wasn’t even offered an apology, either in person or via email. Horrible “customer service”…… All in all if you don’t expect too much from Bantys Roost and you won’t be disappointed. 6/10
The course seems like it’s seen better days. We played a twilight 9 hole round. Greens- many ball marks not repaired, on the slower side Tee boxes- ok, most have a flat spot to hit from Bunkers- half had rakes, not sure many people use them Pace of play- slow slow slow- 10 minute tee time intervals is not a great idea . There were some decent holes, fairly challenging, But the for the price don’t expect anything special
You get what you pay for, $105 for 2 to play 9 holes and a cart. The headache that came with it... someone screwed up the tee off schedule and "accidentally" canceled our tee time then kept me on hold with no intention of speaking with me forcing me to reschedule. Couldn't take responsibility for that screw up. Greens were in terrible condition had more holes in it then Bramalea and ontop of that the guys cutting the grass were taking peoples balls... At least the sun was out.
The course is in great shape, and the green fees are very fair. I will definitely play there again.
