Our first time checking it out. Definitely did not disappoint! This is coming from a girl who doesn't even like ice cream. Their homemade waffles cones are also to die for. I could just eat those. Amazing flavors to choose from. Will be back asap! The guy at the front with glasses and brown hair was also very knowledgeable and kind.
Great little ice cream shop! We wouldn't have known about it unless a friend of ours raved about it.nnWe had the flight with a homemade cone. The kids loved all 4 flavours: cinnamon toast crunch with some cereals in it!, vanilla, blueberry, and earl grey.nnThe decor is also very elegant. Friendly staff yes, you can try some flavours too.nnThe shop and parking is a little hard to find. You have to get off the main street, turn into the park area in the back, and there's plenty of parking in the park parking lot.
Came here for some dairy-free ice cream and was not disappointed. There are very few ice cream places that are able to accommodate for my dairy intolerance and I really appreciated that I had two options of ice creams I could eat. The Chocolate and the Coffee Toffee Crunch. I had the latter and it was great! I went on a Saturday and it was a nice day and it was packed! There was a line out of the door. But everyone seemed fine with waiting in line for their ice cream. The waffle cones are also made in house and they are delicious. I came back to Banter on a rainy day and it wasn't as busy by far. The second time I tried their pumpkin cheesecake flavour and it was amazing. The variety and frequency of changing flavour is what makes this place work I think.
This is such a great business! It is our youngest son's most favorite place to visit in Abbotsford! I loved my first ice cream cone from Banter. So many unique flavors and delicious fresh waffle cones.nThe chocolate raspberry Sundae that was featured in January 2025 was the so delicious !
The best option for a first-timer here, in my opinion, is the 'flight,' which comes with 4 scoops and allows you to choose 4 different flavors. We also asked for a waffle cone, which they placed on top of our ice cream plate. “Selma”, who took our order and prepared our ice cream, was super helpful, and we loved her suggestions on what to get. When we requested a waffle cone, “JJ” brought us a fresh one that he had just made! Talk about freshness! They were both amazing and surely added to our positive experience. We are extremely happy with our visit here and will be back when we visit Abbotsford again.
