Recently reopened under new management, a wonderful and cozy feel. Delicious teas, and a new seating area so you can study or just hang out with friends.
Banana Dog is one of Muskegon’s best hidden gems. The staff make a great effort of making every customer feel welcome. On several occasions, they’ve helped me customize my drink for the perfect order. I love their berry coolers in the summer, and you can’t go wrong with any of their warm drinks. The new owner is passionate about sourcing the highest quality tea all while keeping the integrity of the old Banana Dog that we know and love. Thankful to have this spot in the neighborhood!
I love this place. The drinks/smoothies are delicious and very fairly priced, the owners are friendly, and there is a great selection of packaged tea and tea related items for sale. I also really appreciate that they offer a selection of vegan snacks in addition to their other treats.
Bananadog before and after the new owner is like the difference between Twitter before and after Elon. Edit: Ok, so my original review was snarky, so I’m editing to clarify. They are serving hot to-go orders without lids and have been for weeks. This is not acceptable or safe. They also aren’t telling you until after you pay for your drink, or it’s been made and people feel too guilty to back out of their order at that point. He’s blaming the lid vendor, but this is pretty easily solved. It’s almost bizarre they don’t see this as a problem that needs an immediate solution for 180 degree beverages. The lid vendor certainly isn’t to blame for their decision to be irresponsible, over and over again…for weeks. This one fact tells you everything you need to know about the new owner. But this is too important… Speaking of blaming others, that’s a really common theme with the new owner and it might be the most common thing I hear when talking to other former regulars. He routinely blames his vendors for not delivering on orders he has never placed. Do not rub your stink on other small local businesses!! That is not okay! As the former owner of a brick and mortar myself, that’s hugely offensive in the small business community. The lack of ethics here is astounding and I will never shop here again on that point alone. I also have strong opinions on the diminished quality of tea, the inconsistency in the drinks and menu, not using the old recipes you promised us all you would respect, overall lack of cleanliness, the smarmy vibe and more. But if anyone is still going here after the first two points, well, we probably aren’t each other’s cup of tea.
I love this place! If you love unique cold and hot teas they sell smoothies and coffee too! that are also natural, fair trade, etc then I seriously suggest you go! They super duper cheap too for the AMAZING quality!! Diane and Cindy are wonderful people and they are knowledgeable in what they do! They even sell the cutest tea pots ever!
Such an underrated tea shop! I came by a few years ago in their smaller location but the current one is so spacious. A wonderful selection of artisan teas, plus their to go menu has a lot of options as well! The matcha lemonade my husband got was sweet and tangy. I really enjoyed my matcha latte as well. I also restocked on a few loose leaf varieties I love
If you like tea. You need to try this place. Good price for the quality and the owners are nice people. They even have vegan, gluten free, and dairy free options.
I love this place! Great selection of tea and the staff are just amazing. They're so helpful and sweet. Along with all of the great products they sell, they also sell and promote products from several other businesses in the area Village Baker, Laughing Tree, etc. They have vegan and gluten free items. Delicious soups.
I am currently enjoying probably the best cup of Irish breakfast that I've ever had thanks to the advice of the staff here. Seriously if you like fancy teas or are new to the loose leaf game please do yourself a huge favor and give this place a look! Most def will be back for a black tea latte one of these days
I could not recommend this place more! The ladies that work here I didn’t catch their names! were so sweet and made me one of the best teas I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back.
