The most authentic Malaysian cuisine I have ever had the pleasure of tasting since being in Canada. The place is a small family style restaurant and the place was packed at closing, but the service is fast and courteous. The portion size is very generous and food was top notch for the price. I would gladly return to this place again to fulfil my Malaysian food cravings.
I have dined in and ordered take out from Banana Leaf over the years and they have been excellent, without any change in quality over the course of the pandemic. The usual go-to dishes are the roti, Taiwanese style chicken, seafood laksa. Good sized portions for all dishes and will have some leftover for the most part! Most dishes are spicy but it's a good heat. Recommend trying if you enjoy Malaysian food!
This little cafe is a good place to enjoy Malaysian cuisine. The servers were nice and friendly. The taste of everything was authentic. The food came quickly and very appetizing. Each portion was generous & the price was affordable. The only downside was the size of the restaurant. It was quite small so it was kinda hard to get a table for 5 of us on weekends.
This is really good food for those who want an authentic Malaysian experience. We ordered laksa soup, nasi lemak and beef rendang. Beef rendang was really good. Followed by laksa. The food has this taste which I actually felt when I visited Malaysia and I’ve been there multiple times. So go ahead! Edit: Had a bad stomach 6-8 hours after. I have a good tolerance of spices so not sure what happened. Going to give benefit of doubt and still go again
The food was great! Huge portions, unfortunately I could not finish everything. If you enjoy Malaysian food, this is a must! Personally, I would have liked the Bak Kuh Teh to have a little bit of a stronger herbal taste but the flavour was definitely there!
Friendly service. Food arrived quickly. Generous portions. Very tasty. If you're not a fan of chili peppers in the sauce, you can have the sauce on the side.
Mouth watering food & great service! Would 100% recommend all the dishes we had. - The chicken nugs are phenomenal! Tasty bite size fried chicken. So, good! - Seafood Laksa, full of flavour, generous amount of seafood, spicy and creamy. - Roti with curry Beef Brisket, great combination and serving size. Beef was cooked perfectly, just delicious.
I come here once in awhile I think it's a bit heavy to have too often but it's awesome. Super spicy so be ready for that. It's often not busy so it's great for a quick meal. Authentic and delicious!
Their Beef Rendang is mind blowing! The flavour, complexity and texture of all in the plate, the beef was so tender, cucumber and peanuts compliments everything in this meal! One of their best seller! Also had their Curry beef Laksa and Seafood Laksa. Both had an authentic flavour in it with hint of Galanggal taste. Not too spicy, just had the right kick in it. Packed with meat toppings and noodles! Serving was fast and crew were super nice to customers. Weekend lunch time was packed so plan ahead and go early. Beef Rendang: 10/10 Curry Beef Laksa: 9/10 Seafood Laksa: 8/10
Chicken rice = recommend. They don't have the right chicken as you can see from the pic. Also overcooked. I'm not from south Asia so I can't judge too much about the laksa. I like it. It's a rich and flavourful dish. It's just personally too spicy for me and I packed all of it home.
