What a beautiful place to get away for the day and be immersed in nature. The trails are nice and wide, and relatively flat so most could enjoy it without concern for great technicality. Just an easy amble through the woods. The path markers were very clear, and none of the trails were particularly long. This time of your everything is covered in a soft bed of moss. I highly recommend going while it is raining or shortly after. The dense canopy above immerses you in its colour, and song. It was very busy, but you can pace yourself to wait 10 minutes in between each person's start time, that way it feels like you're secluded. Can't believe I've never been! Well worth the drive :
Love coming here in the summer/fall and have never experienced it in winter. Holiday Trail was fantastic, the light displays, lit up trail walk, food/wine and music at the barn was a magical holiday experience for our family. We went on a snowy Friday night and brought our 2 and 5 year old and we all had so much fun. Plenty of parking and the parking fee was included in the ticket price which was a nice surprise. Thanks so much for having us and for putting on a great event to get friends/family together in nature!
Went here in the summer of 2021 and it was truly one of the best outdoor experiences I've ever had in southern Ontario. Just beautiful. Very clean which I appreciate and had such a great energy. Loved seeing the ruins too. I only saw one of the falls but will definitely be back to see the other!
Beautiful and easy hike to both falls. The village was very nice. Amazing to see those buildings of old. Very pleased that we found this park. We have passed by again in March while walking the Bruce Trail. We have stopped and visited the Upper Fall. It is just amazing with the extra flow of water from all the all the snow melt. Definitely a beautiful place to visit.
That is a great natural conservation park to visit. There is the museum with ancient grist mill, horse vehicles, drays and more. It’s interesting to visit this place on a big company. There are barbecue places inside the park. They are cozy and comfortable and located next to the waterfall. If you like hiking, it’s a great place for this too. The river has many ways that you can explore on foot. You can also go up to the mountains and hike there to see the spectacular view. The greatest viewpoint in this conservation area is the top rock from the waterfall. It shows you the whole park and more. Recommend to visit this park.
A pretty short hike to get to both the falls! Some snow and ice still on the ground so it got slippery at certain points. Definitely about to get a better view of the lower falls than the upper falls. You can hear the falls before you even see it! Also some cool history with the heritage buildings on the side of the lower falls. Parking was $8 on the way out via credit card at the gate off season price with no attendant
Ball's Falls visitor centre features great photos and info about the rock formation sites in various regions in Ontario. Very informative and educational. Washroom facility. Souvenir shopping. Parking fees required. Short trails leading to the Upper fall as well as to the Lower fall. It has been pretty dry thus year so both Falls have dried up to almost like drizzles. Trails clearly marked and not difficult to hike. Very spectacular views.
The trails were well maintained, even in the rainy weather. The Christmas Lights are up for winter walks. Be aware a car trip there is going to cost $8 minimum. But I still recommend. Getting a parks pass again.
Beautiful excluded area. There are 2 falls make sure to check them. For the most part it is an easy hike. There are plenty of trees so trails are shaded . Totally recommend it. Swimming is not allowed but as you can see it didn’t stop these people. The old build ruins is a beautiful sight
Did a spring hike mid April at Balls Falls Conservation Area. Went to the upper falls and it was so quiet and beautiful. Went in the late afternoon and on a Sunday. The upper waterfall is just a little bit of a climb but not difficult. We climbed down all the way to the bottom to get close to the waterfall. If you follow the trail you will be able to see the waterfall right from the top too! You will also find the ruins of the woollen mill along the way.
