The staff here are very friendly. That being said, nothing really stands out here. There was a long wait for the food after being seated, and the food was nothing special. Tried a ham & cheese omelette, pancakes, and sausage links. The best part was the wheat toast. Maybe I’ll come back to check out a burger or coney dog.
Very small place and heard so much about great breakfast. Yes the price is low but the quality of the food was low too. Sorry but I don't like an omelet with huge gobs of the white showing. How hard is it to beat it until everything is mixed. Don't order fried eggs for this reason. Very scant amount of ham & not sure if there was even a slice of cheese. Wanted to like it but, haven't been back.
My turkey and cheddar omelet was cooked to perfection. I got my hashbrowns lightly cooked and they were tasty. The waitstaff is very friendly. Kid-friendliness: They are kind and friendly toward children.
THE BEST CONEYS They're not pretentious, they're not fancy, they're not chili on a hot dog, they're not organic beef, all natural casing hot dogs, they're not gourmet, they're just darn good coneys, made how they're supposed to be. Fine ground coney chili, skinny hot dogs with a good snap. Two of em with solid fork-able fries for under $5. It's not gourmet, but CONEYS aren't meant to be. It's just a good no-nonesense, great place. Has a darn good burger too. Wait staff and cooks rule, it's small town cozy atmosphere with good food, and no pretention.
Just your small town local diner. This was our first time here & will definitely be going back. They have hearty yummy food with great portions and good prices. It was nice to see a smart cook sauté up all the veggies first to make sure they were hot in the omelet. Wait staff is very friendly. Update: Our second time here and still just as good. The only complaint is we ordered a mushroom onion omelette and there were so many onions that is all we could taste. The Southern omelette was very good and the mashed potatoes with gravy even though they are instant we’re delicious!
If you’re looking for trendy, this cafe isn’t for you. We stopped in for breakfast. I was impressed with the cleanliness including the restroom. We had breakfast - eggs cooked to perfection and the bacon was completely crisp but not burned… and very reasonably priced. Wish I lived nearby.

A classic greasy spoon diner with good food, and friendly staff who are happy to make recommendations. The omelettes are pretty big, with 3 eggs and other fillings as well. The server made sure that my coffee stayed full and warm which I always appreciate.
Had some time to spare and hadn’t eaten breakfast so we stopped into the Baldwin Cafe. One booth was open so we grabbed that and the waitstaff was fast and friendly. We both ordered two eggs medium done, hash browns and wheat toast along with two coffees. The entire meal came to $10.47. Great food, fast and excellent service! The bathrooms were extremely clean. ⏩My only complaint was that the restaurant wasn’t very disabled accessible and parking was a bit hard. Other than those two issues, I I highly recommend Baldwin Cafe.
The Baldwin Cafe has been a staple of the community and an original Orion Township go to breakfast and lunch cafe. A rich history of Lake Orion historical pictures proudly displayed above each booth proves throughout time that this has been a local gathering for quite some time. The coneys are sensational, extremely delicious as well as their breakfast lunch specials. Good ole fashion service with a traditional retro feel of a open barstool cafe. Highly recommend if your in the area!
