I didn't know what to do or where to turn when we we lost my sister last month. Ronna, Crystal and the rest of the staff at Bailey's are amazing. They not only guided us through the process but also took the time to ensure every last detail was exactly how we wanted it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything that you do.
We were deeply disappointed in the level of service and lack of compassion provided by Bailey’s during the burial of our father in July of 2021. After the memorial in Saskatoon, we entrusted our father’s remains to the staff at Bailey’s for the burial service in Yorkton. However, the morning of the burial, the staff member we had been dealing with called shortly before the service to inform us that he would not be able to attend. We naturally assumed this meant another member of the staff would be onsite, but we arrived to find our father’s casket left unattended atop his final resting place. No staff from Bailey’s were present, nor did any arrive to assist. We were unable to complete the burial rite and lower the casket into the grave without assistance. As such, we were forced to again leave our father’s casket above ground, unattended, in an empty cemetery. Still shocked and confused, we called Bailey’s and asked for pictures of the burial to ensure it had taken place. The pictures were taken an unknown amount of time after we left, and not provided to us until the next day. This experience was traumatic for an already grief-stricken family, and we feel that the closure of our father’s burial was taken from us. I would hope this is not indicative of the normal level of service Bailey’s provides, but unfortunately there aren’t second-chances when it comes to the death of a loved one. Bailey’s website assures grieving families that “we will guide you through the entire process every step of the way”, but unfortunately our family was just left out in the cold.
I worked with Bailey’s Funeral Home a few years ago as they were planning a columbarium garden located beside their beautiful cemetery water feature. I first met Raymond Bailey in his role as President of the Western Canada Cemetery Association. And over the years I’ve come to truly believe that the world is a better place with people like Raymond and his wife Crystal in the world. Their compassionate care for families during their most difficult time is evident in how they speak about their profession. Their focus on serving others is always at the forefront of their mission. Should you ever require their services, you can rest assure that you will receive kind and compassionate care. They have integrity and focus on the needs of others before their own. Working with Raymond and seeing how he assists others in the industry Is a true pleasure. Sincerely, Susan Johnstone Sunset Memorial & Stone
