Babel Restaurant

Went as part of the summerlicious promotion for lunch. The ambience of Babel was really nice, very spacious and well-decorated, with the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. Our server was superb, extremely attentive and constantly checking in on us. The reason for the three stars is the actual food. Even though the rest of the experience was great, one goes to the restaurant for the food, so it has a big impact on the overall experience. Arugula Salad - Appetizer; good, but not enough topping or dressing to amount to much flavour. Seared B.C. Snapper - Main; the fish wasn't dressed or cooked in a way that made it stand out from any other restaurant, or even something I could make at home. The corn and watermelon salad had barely any corn and giant chunks of watermelon. I love watermelon, but it didn't serve to complement the other flavours in the dish. Turkish Coffee Cream Puff - Dessert; not fresh, and with very little actual coffee flavour. Overall the food was fine, but not great. Good enough, but nothing to recommend itself enough to be worthwhile of a return visit, which is unfortunate because the rest of the experience was great. What a wonderful wonderful and wonderful night out with friends. Thank you all Babel staff starting from greeter to our Korean name slipped waiter for making our first night out with friends in long time a wonderful and delicious time. Hats off and compliment to the chef and cooking staff for making our Mediterranean dish night out a success. The private room provided for our big group was most appreciated and the ambiance was light enough and perfect to bring my little ones to. From appetizers all the way to wonderful desert was superb! Thank you once again!

I wish I came here sooner. Everything was perfect. The decor is fantastic. Walked in and was greeted by a super friendly host. Depending on where you’re seated you can see part a wood burning stove. Our server was great. Really funny and knew the menu like the back of their hand. The food was delicious and fresh tasting. Tried a number of cocktails and they were all great and really well made. I’ve become a regular and love being pleasantly surprised every time I return.

Didn’t meet my expectations here. The only reason I gave this restaurant three stars is their service which was so professional, and their food presentation. All of the dishes we ordered were tasteless and hadn't enough Mediterranean spices plus no seasoning My bold disappointment was their Lamb Shank; based on the waitress's suggestion as she said the meat is so tender and juicy, which to be honest, was completely the opposite. Positive feedback would be the restaurant atmosphere and food presentation. I hope next time I visit here, there will be improvements.

Food was halal and so delicious. Ambiance was great too. Prices are decent and portions are well sized. I split everything in the photos with my partner and we both left feeling very full! The baklava cheesecake dessert is out of this world good! Highly recommend trying this place.

The space has a great ambiance. Perfect for date night! Great service and I appreciated that the wait staff wore masks. The hummus was pretty to look at but really nothing special. The octopus was cooked to the perfect doneness if a tad salty. The side potatoes were too good for words though.

Ambience 10/10 Beautiful decor. Service 10/10 Our server Neil was very friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. Starters 9/10. We ordered the babel bread and charred eggplant. The eggplant was superb and a very unique flavor. Main course 7.5/10 The lamb shank is perfectly cooked and balanced. Good portion size as well The slow roasted chicken was decent, the skin was flavourful but the chicken inside was a little bland Dessert 9/10 The kunafah with ice cream was well made, the cheese was fresh and tasty and the pistachio ice cream on the side is highly recommended

Drinks - non alcoholic beverages were great refreshing, sweet and flavourful. Creamed burrata- was fresh and light, the pomegranate was a nice hint of sweetness would definitely get this again but would prefer if it was a little less runny but that is just personal preference. Pearl couscous- truthfully was very salty and lacked flavour I did not enjoy this and couldn’t finish it. Would not recommend this. Manti- the sausage was spiced and flavourful however was very dry on its own so happy it came with a sauce. The portion was small. Wouldn’t get this again. Was nice to try though just very dry. Beef kebab- cooked well medium rare , the meat was very tender and juicy but I feel like it could’ve been a bit more flavourful their really was no taste to it, I felt it was very bland and then an overpowering amount of a salt. The veggies were very salty so pairing it with my couscous was not enjoyable. Pasta- cooked through, sauce was mildly flavourful. Meat was cooked well and tender. Overall the ambiance was nice, the staff were friendly kind and accommodating so for that I would give a full 5. They were very professional and answered all my questions regarding my dietary restrictions. But I wish the food was more memorable, it was very bland. Still a nice place to try for halal options too but not something I would go back multiple times for.

Visited for my first time this past weekend and I'm already looking forward to coming back! The service was amazing, our server was attentive and kind and was very accommodating to my friend who has allergies. The food was really good, I would recommend the grilled squid and the grilled octopus. The atmosphere was lovely!Food: 5/5

Not only is the presentation beautiful but I absolutely loved the addition of apricots and dates! This is definitely worth the $8!⁣⁣ ⁣ & $ , , ⁣⁣ I'm no hummus connoisseur but I really like how rich and creamy it was!⁣ ⁣⁣ $ , , , ⁣⁣ I personally would've preferred the avodacos to be a bit more ripe. The smoked paprika was a nice addition for some added heat but I can't say this was my favourite dish of the day. ⁣ ⁣⁣ $ , , , , ⁣ ⁣This baked flat bread is a must order for cheese-lovers! The pomegranate was a nice way to keep the dish from getting too heavy.⁣ ⁣⁣ $ , , , ⁣⁣ This dessert is made to order and can be described as delicate, creamy and a little tangy.
