First time coming here, and I got my typical pizza order, a large with mushrooms and green peppers. It was a good pizza. I liked that the crust was still a little soft. The toppings were of good quality as well. The sauce is a little thin. The price was a little high compared to other pizza places. The staff was friendly and the inside was nice and clean.
This is the benchmark for what NY Pizza should be. I do not say this lightly: THIS IS THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER EATEN in Syracuse. I tried Twin Trees, Gino and Joe's, Mario Brothers, etc. Each left me wondering why the reviews were so good. I mean, they were okay, but far from "the best" as many claimed. Avicolli's is LEGIT. The crust, the sauce, the meat. So good it made my eyes roll back in my head! I literally ate the entire 16" pie, and was tempted to order another. This is the ONLY pizza I will ever order in Syracuse Liverpool, etc. from now on. Five stars is not sufficient. Take it from a true pizza lover - THIS is ten-star pizza. BRAVO!!!
This was a favorite place of mine for both pasta and pizza before I started traveling for work. It was the first place I wanted to goto when I came back and it did NOT disappoint! I've referred many friends and family members here over the years and noone ever has a bad thing to say. Food and quality are excellent, consistent, staff is friendly and the atmosphere is spot on.
When we first walked we were greeted by the most friendliest hostess who went above and beyond to get us seated quickly with my service dog. Then the waitress and staff was amazingly friendly, efficient, tending to all our needs. Then the food...WOW! The Utica greens were perfectly cooked and seasoned just right with just a touch of spice. The Pasta Fagio was perfect with amazing mix of flavors. The Strip Steak was a nice medium rare with blue cheese topping. The roasted potatos where perfect and the portions are above normal.
Worst chicken riggies I’ve ever had. Pasta covered in pizza sauce with giant pieces of onion and zero flavor. I’ve had some bad riggies, but these are special. How is it that this is a CNY based restaurant, and the “chicken riggies” bear no semblance to chicken riggies. The chicken wings we ordered are gray, have no sauce and possibly pepper sprinkled on them? Very strange. The pizza was undercooked. The Italian wedding soup smelled so weird when we opened it, nobody tried to eat it. None of us could identify the smell. The “garlic knots” were tough, flavorless and stale. This is officially the most low effort food we have ever received. I typically only write reviews when something is very good or very bad. Avicollis is the latter.
Very delicious pizza. Waitress was very helpful and sweet lady. Def try out.Recommended dishesNY Style Pizza
Avicolli’s has never let me down. The service and food is always amazing, no matter what I order! I ordered Salmon with wedding soup. The wedding soup was filled with flavor. Garlic Knots came on the side of my meal, and they were ok. They were missing some garlic flavor and were a bit cold, but still good. My main course, the Salmon, was some of the best Salmon I’ve every had. The service was also very quick. 5/5. I will be coming back.
Avicolli's is always pleasing to the palate. From perfectly cooked pasta with tantalizing sauces, to fish and meats that are always perfectly cooked. We've enjoyed every meal we've ever had here and it's one of the places we will often try something we've never had before because of our trust for their skills. We always enjoy the slight changes they make to increase their variety of options and make it fun to see what's on the menu this time around. We've also had pizza and calzones and are never disappointed. With all that said,I won't say it's always a home run, but we are always hitting singles, doubles, triples or home runs and never striking out. Enjoy!!
Delicious, hearty meals! My husband and I were here the other week- and we both loved our meals. I had the chef's special chorizo pasta and my husband had the baked combo italiano with added meatballs. We also ordered the calamari as an appetizer. Everything was so filling! We both were unable to finish our meals, and ended up bringing a lot home to enjoy later. Very lovely location, and we were served very quickly.
I'm the type to never write negative reviews because I don't want to negatively affect a business, but this was probably the worst take out food I've ever had and lead to me get extremely sick the next morning, so I've got to say something. Ordered chicken riggies and fried mozzarella, came with 2 pieces of garlic bread. Rigatoni was severely undercooked, chicken was awful not even sure how to describe it - it was in abnormal shapes and hard to break apart and just tasted awful, fried mozzarella was dry and chewy like it was put in the microwave too long, garlic bread was cold in middle and could barely be broken apart. I had about 5 bites total and my wife had 2 and then threw it out. Next morning I got violently sick. It was the worst sickness I've ever had and I don't even want to provide details because of how disgusting it was. I understand every restaurant has their bad days but none of what I received should of ever seen the light of day. I wouldn't even give the food I received to a starving stray dog.
