Perfect spot for brunch, with amazing mimosas and so many delicious menu options. The staff is so friendly and professional and they were able to handle our rowdy party of 8 with no problem. The view over the water is breath taking, even on rainy/misty days, and the restaurant is so clean and cozy inside! Portions are just right, filling, but not too much, and the fruit they brought to the table was such a wonderful extra touch!
Great spot right on the lake with an amazing view. I would recommend getting a table on the patio. The food was also good.
I was really looking forward to trying this place as the brunch menu and cocktail selection and eating by the water seemed really promising. Unfortunately reality did not live up to the expectations. It took over an and a half to get our food, seemed the waitress had forgot to put our order in, then items were missing or what the meal actually was had been miscommunicated. As for the taste of the food when I tried to pick up my poached egg, a bunch of water spilled out of them all over my avocado toast making it soggy, the home potatoes were just tasteless boiled potatoes mixed up with raw onion, meanwhile, my friends had their eggs Benny served on not thoroughly cooked biscuits with raw centres and did not get the fruit cup that was supposed to come with their meal. The only good things were the mimosas, the company and the view.
Reserved the back room for a friends baby shower and it was plenty of room for our group of ~15 and a beautiful view of the water. The food was delicious and the drinks were good. Our service was up and down through the afternoon, it seemed like our server was busy with other tables. Overall great experience and will go back.
North Bay's best patio view! Enjoy an elegant meal with stunning views of Trout Lake. Time your evening for live music for the best experience. Parking can be limited when busy, carpooling will help with that. If you have a boat, consider their dock parking option. They also deliver by jet ski! Prices are out of reach and general consensus is they are priced too high for the flavour of the food.
We have always really enjoyed Average Joe's. The food is consistently delicious, with friendly, attentive service and a great view. Recently tried breakfast and it was fantastic, especially the mimosas. It is equally a great place for a quiet meal or to bring friends when they are in town. We are already looking forward to our next visit!
Every dish I have here is better than the last. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and good drunk selection!Food: 5/5
We had a great dining experience. The service was outstanding. Our server, Kairi, was exceptional. She was attentive to the allergies at the tables and ensured accommodations were made. The food was delicious. I had the salmon with blueberry drizzle, it was done to perfection...well done chef! Prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is great! Over great experience. Well done!! Look forward to our next visit. Dietary restrictions: Dairy
I had a beet salad that was totally tasteless, if I wanted just oil and lettuce, I could of made that myself, there was no nuts not balsamic drizzle and the beets were very mushy. Also the waitress must of forgot to put our order in , everyone around us were served first, we waited way too long for our order, they should find a different supplier for their mussels, ours were the size of baby clams, we did mention this to the owners and were not shown any concerns whatsoever....not recommended.
The good: the staff are on point. Clear, well pronounced and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall the experience was good. The food would have been better rated had the price been on average $5 less per plate. After what I had heard of the place the the reviews I was going in with really high hopes of good seafood. The setting was quite nice on the main floor but the washrooms are not what you would expect. Strange that I would bring that up but it goes along with the rest of of the experience. The food could have been amazing but the salmon was frozen or had been cooked for a long time and was warmed up. The bacon sauce on the muscles was amazing though but the muscles seemed overcooked maybe or reheated too often? The shrimp was average and the buttered vegetables seemed to be the highlight of the meal. If I didn't know any better based on the audience present in the restaurant I would imagine that this place used to be really good but the only people who may have tasted the foods Glory days are the elderly folk who keep coming back. Another thing I got to try was the Alfredo and I could be wrong but I don't think I had Alfredo... Seemed overly thick and lacked that cheese flavor but maybe it too was frozen, thawed and then thicked with cornstarch or flour? Suggestions for this place would be the following With Orchards right down the road I don't understand why not use better ingredients? Maybe find out where they are sourcing there food and buy from there as well? Most fish is good for 5 days chilled if sourced fresh. Salmon does not take long at all to cook and nor do muscles. At least they don't if they are not frozen. Note: I hope the pickerel in the summer is fresh from lake Nipissing. Final thoughts: Frozen savoury foods can almost always be spotted as fats from the dish will leak out when cooked again making the ingredient or dish dry and or gritty. Staff are great and presentation was very good.
