I got a 2019 Kia Sorento EX from this dealership last year in April 2024, and overall, the experience was good. I was offered a 12.9% interest rate due to a derogatory mark on my credit, which is understandable. At the end of the day, I’m paying a higher interest rate, but the issue I have is that I thought buying a car from a reliable source like Autoplanet would be a headache-free experience—unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case.nnI’ve spent a lot of time with mechanics these past few weeks because there’s an issue with the transmission component and the torque converter. Because of this, the engine has started leaking oil. The car has only 118,000 kilometers on it and came with a clean Carfax.nnThe person who worked on this deal made 5-6 inquiries for me, but I understand that due to my sub-prime credit, things were a bit more complicated. When I went for a test drive, I was only offered a drive around the parking lot because the car didn’t have enough fuel. They told me to trust the Carfax and them Autoplanet and take their word that the car was perfect. Fast forward to the pickup day, and while I was playing with the buttons, I discovered that I had accidentally locked the differential and the car was stuck in AWD mode. I couldn’t switch it to FWD because the button was stuck.nnI called them, and they said I could bring the car back the next day, but they’d charge me a diagnostic fee. I decided to figure it out on my own rather than paying them. It turned out there was melted chocolate stuck in the button. So I called them again to ask if they could just put the buttons back in place. However, they again said there would be a diagnostic fee, even though I explained that nothing was wrong with the buttons—I just needed help putting them back in place after cleaning them.nnIt’s been a mixed experience. I’m giving it two stars because I was able to secure a $45,000 loan for six years with a car that, unfortunately, feels like a lemon and was only priced $24,995. It wasn’t a terrible experience, so I won’t give it one star. I do have a vehicle, but I can’t really call it my daily driver. Looking back, I wish I had waited a bit longer to get a brand new vehicle with a warranty. It’s a Kia, I should have known better, blaming a dealership who just selling used vehicles isn’t really helping anyone.
