5 stars isn't enough for this place, wish I could give it 10! The food was absolutely incredible. We have tried so many Indian places in Toronto but nothing compares to this place. The owner also stayed late so we could eat dinner and shared his great story with us. Great service, delicious food, great environment, can't ask for a better experience!! Vegetarian options: Had a vegetarian menu!!! Absolutely delicious.
Been here for a lunch with friends. Worth a try at this restaurant with mixed feelings. Ambience is very good and like to give 5 stars for that. Menu is limited. Starters were very good. Very well presented and it was tasty too. Main course would have been better. After tasting the delicious starter, our expectations were high on the main course. Curries were not that rich in flavors. We expected little more spicier as it mentioned spicy in the menu but it was not. Dessert, brownie sizzler is the best one to compete your lunch. Taste was at its best and everyone liked it to the most. Must try paapri chat, brownie sizzler Service is excellent and the chef visited the table to check if we are satisfied with the lunch or can they work on any improvements. It made us feel good when they are eager to satisfy their customers. I will visit again and hope I give 5 stars from my next visit.
We stumbled across Aura and so happy we did. The food is exquisite. It’s not your typical spicy Indian food. The owner puts his heart into creating classic Indian cuisine, but his way. Super flavourful, good sized portions. For being open for 10 weeks, this husband and wife team made our experience lovely. And how amazing is it to have an amazing Indian restaurant in NOTL?! So refreshing and delicious. Highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back. Ps- try the mango beer!
Simply phenomenal... perhaps the best Tika I've had since being in India. The rice was very flavorful & cooked to perfection. The garlic Naan was clearly house made & wasn't covered in clumps of garlic but had nicely distributed, minced garlic & fresh herbs. I would HIGHLY recommend dining here. Save room for dessert!!!! Had the Gluabjamun with Rabri... amazing! The staff was very friendly. We asked the chef/owner about a whiskey on the list, he was very knowledgeable about the food obviously but also was able to quickly suggest a terrific whiskey.
Great experience. Very nice food. The ambience was great and owner Nitin was so great in explaining and suggesting the best dishes. Will definitely come back. Vegetarian options: Soy Chop was great. The Tiramisu Rasmalai Dessert was great .
Great new family run Indian restaurant. We were looking for chai after a tiring hike and a "small" meal. I ordered a paneer sandwich and my wife ordered papdi chat. The chat was excellent. The sandwich could have been spicier but was still quite good. And of course, the chai hit the spot! Rubin looked after us and he was a pleasure. Highly recommended.
We went to Aura on the Lake for lunch and sat on their beautiful patio. The restaurant has an incredibly peaceful ambiance that supports local alcohol companies and good quality ingredients some of which are from local farmers. The service was absolutely fantastic and we got a chance to chat with the owner about his vision for the restaurant. We asked him to make suggestions on the food and the food was incredible. There are a lot of Indian restaurants in the Niagara region however this one is the best. The sweet lassi was really tasty flavoured with roses. Reading other reviews about price complaints, I would like to say that the prices of this restaurant are on par with others in the area. This restaurant is located in the heart of Niagara on the Lake and serves quality food. The focus is on the experience and if you’re by yourself, you’re able to bring a book, relax and really enjoy the ambiance with some good food. We will definitely return for dinner as a family. We are excited to try the dinner menu which is different from the lunch menu with more variety.
What a great experience. Lots of positive things about our dinner. The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. The outdoor patio was perfect for people watching and enjoying the evening. The food was very tasty, with the right amount of spice and good selection for vegetarians. And they are pet-friendly and were very accommodating for our dog. Thank you so much!
The restaurant is beautiful but the food is bland. It is more geared towards the taste buds of whites. So, if you are looking for spicy Indian food, it is not the right pick. The staff is polite.
We have been meaning to try this restaurant since it opened last summer, and finally made it today! The dishes are freshly prepared to order and are not your typical restaurant Indian cuisine. Everything was authentic, and tweaked by the owner/chef to improve the flavour for his North American clientele's palate. The freshness and depth of flavour from the spices were outstanding. We shared a starter and then ordered two mains, which we also shared. There was ample food to satisfy our lunchtime appetites with sufficient leftovers for dinner tonight. The food prices are on the high side, but mostly warranted given the preparation involved. We also had a couple of glasses of local wine, which were also priced on the high side even by NOTL standards. It was nice to be able to talk to the owner and hear about his future plans for the restaurant. We hope to return.
