Keeping an old building from being replaced is a costly affair, but the results are often pleasing to the eye, not to mention popular with many. The decision to restore the old Verdun Auditorium and to add a modern section to it has turned into a success story for the borough. The look and feel of the building vary from art deco some decorative elements to modernist, but don't clash. In other words, a successful modernization effort.
I remember when I was maybe 14 or 15 years old and I got a chance to play an exhibition game at the Verdun Auditorium before the renovations. It was okay, but I'm impressed with it now because it looks more modern. The Andre-Laurendeau Boomerang Women's hockey team here and they have a very nice dressing room.
A lot of wasted space in this arena. After all the time to upgrade you should have at least made the dressing rooms larger. And the walls are such poor quality. I'm sure in 10 years it will be filled with black mold. And let's not even begin to talk about ice conditions, or should we just call it an indoor pond..
Nicely renovated historical arena! Very happy they kept the old wooden chairs. Really enjoyed skating there. Would be great if the Skating ticket would allow a free parking on the adjacent parking lot.
The newly renovated building and arena are amazing. Really clean and organized. Need to sign up via the web site for the public skating these days. Very well managed and relaxing during the session.
Went there to see a basketball game, great place and great service everywhere. The only issue is it was very hot there during the game. Otherwise I would give it 5 starts.
It was a great exp at the Montreal Alliance game, definitely recommend, the music could have been better but totally worth it!!
Great older facility with modern touches and amenities added in over the years. Awesome for local sporting events.
Awesome arena - but tiny rooms for the kids - especially when they jam 2 teams into 1. No one liked that!
Very close to the De L'Église metro station and they have some rooms for rent for events, including audiovisual equipment. Rooms get a lot of natural light and look fairly well maintained, which is not easy to get in this kind of community centre-type setting
