I'm a total coffee snob with a preference for African beans primarily from Ethiopia or very, very fruity coffees. I go to all the cool third-wave spots and buy all the super expensive brands, and it's still very hard for me to find beans I genuinely like.nn​But I used to work next to Aubut, and their house brand Café St-Ambroise is the city's best-kept secret.nn​Their honey-process Pura Vida coffee is absolutely exceptional. It's smooth and intensely fruity, and on par with any of the country's hipster roasters.nn​But the best part? It's just $39 a kilo used to be $34.nn​I'm not in that area often, but when I am, I always make a stop. Best deal in town.nn​#coffee #coffeesnob #montreal
One of the best grocery stores in Montreal, especially for specialty items!nThey have a lot of products in bulk, similar to Costco but no membership fee which is great.nThey definitely cater mostly to restaurants, but you can buy regular groceries as well. They have a really large selection of different syrups for coffees, cocktails, cocktails bitters, sodas & mixers.nVery good selection of different cheeses both bulk and regular size but quality imports from Europe.nThey have a really great selection of dried beans and legumes that other stores don’t carry. They also carry a good selection of canned goods and international sauces for cooking. If you need a specific items odds are they have it here. They also seem to have a relatively updated website so you can check in advance if they have the product you need which is very convenient.nSome regular items are overpriced like the chips, but bulk items/specialty are worth it.nAlso a very good selection of frozen food from fruits, to seafood.
I’ll never go there again. Their prices are outrageous. I paid $92 for a box of wax paper that is $30 at Club Entrepôt. Don’t waste your money on this place.
Restaurant quality and grade food. A lot in bulk, big sizes and cases but you can definitely shop here for 1 person too.nnDeliveries are throughout Tuesday so you're better off going Wednesday but avoid weekends because chances are there won't be any chicken left especially breast or deboned thighs.nnThey sell restaurant take out containers, Torani syrup, chips, cotton candy ingredients, fresh produce mos and overly packaged though for convenience, fresh fruits, frozen fruits, frozen veggie, frozen fish, beyond meat, etc!nnWarehouse setting, parking, CHEAP PRICES that are hard to beat, lots of selection, restaurant and dépanneur probably shop here so you'll find everything from take out containers, to soy sauce to chips, veggies, fresh and cured meats to measuring cups and cutting boards. Also, wish I knew to check here sooner because they have big quality end grain cutting boards for only 62$! That's a steal.nnFor prices for example, I have never seen alternative milks cheaper. Maybe if there is a sale at the big box, but regular price aubut is great, sale prices aubut even better!nnThe employees here are really nice too. I think they're well paid and have been there a while so they seem to be friends and seem to enjoy their job. Often makes my day :nnFYI they no longer seem to sell ice blocks as of 2025 despite signage showing it does old signnnNEGATIVESn- no signs but it's easy to find things or ask someonen- way too much packaging in the fresh fruits but considering the target market, it's a grab and go situationn- often times will run out of something entirely chicken thighs, breast until the next shipment
Haven’t been in years.. 20 today’s service and assistance was so wonderful . 2 ladies helping me find items and even going to top shelves and opening boxes to find the products I needed. Then a male employee helped me load the items into my vehicle .nHaven’t seen service like that at a store in the longest time.nAnd, being an Anglo; their wasn’t any attitude ; only sincere kindness from those 2 ladies..
