First off the lady at the front desk was super nice so no problems there. Beds were decently comfy. Now for the terrible part.. We walked into our room and the floor was soaked because they left the window open. No free plugs in the room either to plug anything in there were only 2 plugs to start with, we managed not a huge deal. The shower was terrible, more water came out of the spout than the shower head. There was no fridge in the motel room, considering people stop there all the time on road trips, almost all our food went bad my fault for not checking I guess AND for the price we paid they made us pay for coffee in the morning. Let's add on that the guy cleaning the rooms in the morning was LOOKING THROUGH THE WINDOWS INSTEAD OF KNOCKING. Honestly I wouldn't recommend staying here at all. We stayed in quite a few places on our road trip from NS to Ontario and this was by far the worst.
We came here on our wedding night and stayed in the maple suite. The service was excellent and the room was really nice. The big thing was the Jacuzzi did not work! And there was only one bath robe and one set of towels so the room was kinda set up for one person. I give it 3 of 5 stars because of the jacuzzi. Still a great place!
We stayed there recently in the #5 cute cottage in the back. The other couple we were with lucked out on grabbing the comfy bed. The mattress we had was in need of a serious update. My back was destroyed in the morning. The cottages are not worth the price, the bathroom is way too small, and I was really surprised there was no loft at the very least for luggage. because the cottage didn't have a lot of space. Actually I had 3 stars in but am going to bump it down one more. We wouldn't stay there again. Also we found some random underwear in the drawer below the outdated tv.
It was a great experience. My brother and I stayed overnight on our way to Halifax. It was extremely close to the highway which was great. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfy. All in all it was a 10/10 experience! 100% I would return and recommend
We spent the night in what looked like a crappy cottage from the 70s or 80s. The bed was super old and uncomfortable. The toilet barely flushed and that's not a good #2 scenario under any circumstances. My girlfriend loved all the spiders, mosquitoes, and earwigs. My favorite was the 21" picture tube TV from 1999.
Stayed here in late August 2014. Rooms are reasonably comfortable but in need of renovation/updating, and are definitely overpriced. We ate in the restaurant - unfortunately. It had been highly recommended to us but when we got there, the Inn was catering to a large group and the menu for regular diners was limited to several overpriced burgers with utterly mediocre fries, Pad Thai, and perhaps one other item. Tremendous disappointment. Our advice is to make sure the menu is the real thing, and if you stay overnight, be prepared to pay too much for an old-style room.
We have been staying at Auberge Les Jardins Inn for three summers now. We liked it because they have cottages in the back which are perfect for our travels with our dogs. The cottages are a little worn out and the prices are a bit on the high side but we have always agreed to pay the price for the convenience. Our most recent trip however wasn't so pleasant after our stay. My credit card was charged an additional fee a few days later. When I called the Inn I was informed that my dogs had slept on the bed so they charged me a fee because now quote “we have to wash and dry all the bedspreads and blankets.” Problem is our dogs did NOT sleep on the bed. They had their own queen-sized air-mattress and they slept on it and the floor. Not to mention the bed in the cottage had barely enough room for my wife and me; there was no way two German Shepherds could also have been on the bed. Totally impossible. We provided pictures of one of the dogs on the air-mattress where we were staying a few days later. We provided pictures of one of the dogs on the air-mattress IN THE SAME COTTAGE during our stay last year. When we told the Inn we were very unhappy being accused of something we did not do and being charged without contacting us beforehand what was the response from the owner? “The charge is nothing personal.” No apology, no sorry for wrongly charging you. We will not be going back. Aside from that, shouldn’t the bedspreads and blankets be washed, along with the sheets, every time a guest leaves? We don’t want to think about the condition of bedspreads and blankets that are not washed between guests.
We booked 4 rooms. Call earlier for late check-in. Were informed, it shouldn't be a problem. When we got into our room, the A/C was making noise. My 2 year old daughter was also with us. I went to the reception to let them know. The lady at the reception was nice went to check with the owner/manager to accommodate us with another room. Mr. Valmond Martin came blasting out saying take your money and go find another hotel. This place has pathetic customer service and not the way to talk with your guest/customer. He kept saying, he doesn't know what to do or say. If you're service conscious, I won't recommend anyone staying at this hotel.
We were underwhelmed to say the least. First what Was correct: Super clean, country style, ol fashioned log cabin looking furniture + Carrol, the woman who was on when we checked in, was truly a pleasure. The windows were very new. Closed and opened easily, but where there were curtains it was stained + ripped. The fire pit was in with the pool so impossible to use After dark + they told me we couldn't use it away from the area. The rug was nice when you walked in but because of the lack of rubber mat underneath, it moved and slipped several times. In many cases I tripped over it so we put it away in the cupboard. The reservation said 3 but that was forgotten. Thankfully we received a cot from Carrol easily. Two warm blankets but both are very rough and uncomfortable. Well lit inside however the dimmer didn't work. It did however push on + off. Lots of local information however not tidy at all when we came in. They were scattered, magazines not tidied correctly and very disshelved. Very difficult to use. Bed sheets were clean however obviously aged. Thin spots in many areas. Pillows were ok, clearly not new. We were happy we brought our own comforter for our daughter + our pillows. There is a Great stocked kitchen, decent # of utensils. We enjoyed the easy to use microwave and had room for the cot once we had supper out of the way. The air conditioner also worked very well. There was a restaurant but unfortunately no take out. We just wished there was : What didn't work unfortunately was as soon as we checked in, the key broke off in the door, no one could fix it which meant we couldn't leave the area. Pool wasn't heated, a fairly regular attribute to the hotels in this pay level. The bathroom door didn't work, there was a hook on the top. There were not child friendly things wrong in the cabin. Clearly broken off closet door handle, instead a Sharp edged holder. The lack of the door of the bathroom working well. There were broken off edges of plastic hooks approximately the same height of our daughter's head, the swing set outside looked decrepit but it turned out to be sturdy. Regardless hopefully it would be replaced. The rest of the resort didn't warrant the price tag of $135 plus up to $177 after taxes and expenses. Plus the towels were very thin and rough + hanging on a hook In the shower. Oh + there was a light over the sink in the kitchen. It was a plug in style flouresant bulb. It was extremely rusty. Plus when we plugged it ito work, it didn't work. But when I pulled it out of the plug, the cover over the plug Came Off!!!! Such a fire hashard!!! So if you can get it for under $100/night, have your own food, own bedding and it's a super hot night for swimming, you should be ok! Oh yes. The fridge is a good size however wasn't working at first. So after my husband worked on a bit, it finally worked!
It was very charming! More beautiful and rustic than it appeared on the picture. We booked it last minute and we were pleasantly surprised that we were "stuck" at that place!! We didn't try the breakfast but it was worth it just for the beauty and comfort of the room!
