Went on their grand opening we reserved a table to enjoy their 50% off everything. Unfortunately, we got 50% off food, quality and service. two of us ordered our steaks medium rare both came well done. And took over an hour to come. We had to remind our waiter multiple times of our drink orders and food orders. We asked to speak to a manager when the steaks came as late and over cooked as they did, we were told "I'm overwhelmed and have too many people to serve". We then asked for salt as the steak was bland we were given Sugar which the waiter admitted to pouring into our salt shaker. There was no remorse what so ever to the bad service, terrible food and constant mistakes. At the end I demanded a manager again, we had to flag him down. I explained that it was not good all around. He stood there and smiled and didn't apologize so I stated I wouldn't be paying. He grabbed my receipt and crumpled it and stated "there are you happy now?" I have never experienced anything this horrible in my life. Needless to say we wont be back.
It was excellent! My wife and I shared a rib eye and salmon with two empanadas between us. I normally dislike corn but loved how it was prepped as a side with the meat. Just a great local place to definitely check out.
I was excited to try out this place when I heard it was opening because my family is from Argentina Buenos Aires & Cordoba. However, when my wife and I went to dine in shortly after their grand opening I have to say this is NOTHING like authentic Argentinian food! They may have Argentina flags up, food named after Argentina dishes and their take on certain recipes but I can assure you the owners are definitely not from Argentina and any true Argentinian would be embarrassed to have this place represent our culture and amazing food. I tried giving this place a chance as it carries Argentina in it's restaurant name but they do not hit the mark when it comes to true Argentinian steak, chimichurri, empanadas and provoleta. Please call your restaurant another name or just call it a steakhouse, etc.....Argentinian food has extremely high standards and to be 100% completely honest I feel the word "Argentina" should not be on your signage. ME AND MY FAMILY WERE VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WILL STICK TO OUR HOME ASADOS, HOME MADE CHIMICHURRI Y EMPANADAS!
The Not So Grand Opening- Jan. 19, 2020- The owner has put a lot details on the look of the restaurant vs. the quality of food and service. Our table had to wait 45mins. for the server to bring our beverages, and the total wait time for the food is 2hrs. Plus, when we asked for a medium rare steak, the sirloin/ striploin/ rib eye was charcoal on the bottom, and no pink shade inside- it was charcoal well done without any seasoning not even a pinch of salt..I would rather go to the KEG to pay $33 avg. for a steak than come back to this place. If your advertising all over FB and Google for a grand opening, you should have a FULL STAFF that covers all your tables, not one who's alternating from serving GREEK food to one side of the restaurant all the way to the other end for ARGENTINIAN dish; just because there is a MALBEC wine from ARGENTINA selection in your menu, doesn't make your food ARGENTINIAN dish at all- DEFINITELY not going back due to lack of service, nor the manager acknowledging how bad this dining experience have been- even if they have their prices down to 80% off. FYI, i paid for my full meal plus an extra gratuity for your servers who at least apologized for the extended wait times- NEVER AGAIN!
Doesn’t represent Argentinian food very well. Not a huge selection of actual Argentinian food so if you’re from Argentina and are looking for a taste of home, don’t bother. It’s also worth noting that half of the building is a Greek restaurant while the other half was the Argentina Steakhouse which I thought was odd. Some dishes like the chorizo salad or the empanadas were good. Steak was good but came with a side of mashed potatoes which was odd. Food was overall good, but the most disappoint part of the evening was the dessert. The fact that they don’t use real Dulce de Leche in a ARGENTINIAN RESTAURANT is mind blowing. The Dulce de Leche that was used on the crepes tasted like No Fills caramel and I wouldn’t be surprised if it actually was. Please. Get real dulce de leche. The flan was disgusting. It was hard and I’m not even sure it was flan. DO NOT GET THE FLAN. Service was good. The restaurant is expensive but the portions for the main meals were decently big. Having mixed feelings.
I'm not going to express my anger and disappointment with details - Just want to say that this place is the worst in Edmonton. Everything was bad. The name itself is a lie. It doesn't deserve to be named "Argentina". I just left this place and decided to write a review while I'm eating the chicken I had to buy form the Korean place beside it because the food wasn't enough! Pricy, bad customer service, bad bad bad. Never be back there and would recommend the same to all the people I know. What a fallacy!
Would not recommend this place . Oil is cooked in all the foods . Very rich . "10 ounce steak" wasn't a very good cut steak . Took 20 minutes to get some water and a drink when first arrived . Poor service ! If you charge high prices you better have great service ! Just saying
The steak came out wrong twice and then tasted awful. The waiter tried to make up for our terrible dinner with a free dessert but it wasnt worth the 100 dollar bill. Very dissatisfied. Will not return
Food is terrible. Dried steak. Dried salmon. Pasta with mushrooms, worst ever had. The service, well they took the order, served it 1 hour later and never came by for more drinks or anything at all. Not a restaurant that delivers what their prices assume.
The most amazing Greek food I have ever tasted!! My family and I will definitely be back. The owner was super friendly.
