So once again, our travels across eastern Alberta brings us to a quaint little village called Irricana where we discover even a quainter cafe called Arcadia Cafe "where they love to make coffee for a Village who loves to drink it". On the outside, it seems like an ordinary unremarkable location, as is most of Irricana. Once you step inside, it is well like a huge arcade place. Well that is because it used to be , till the owneres transformed it into the Cafe. The ambiance is surprisingly warm and welcoming. Art adorn the walls. And they have free Wifi. This is one hell of a hidden gems, well at least for us. Just a 45 minute drive from Calgary. Great cosy and welcoming interior ambiance. And the food.. the food was simply heavenly. We walked in expecting typical diner food. Wholesome but bland. But this little quaint cafe surprised us. We had the usual breakfast: hash browns, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and toast. Everything was made to perfection and home made. Even the potatoes were freshly grated. And the sausages actually had flavour as did he bacon. Obviously they source their ingredients well and carefully. Couldn't have asked for better. The staff was very friendly and the kids had a great time. The ambiance and the homemade food all made for a very wholesome and lovely experience. Still what really held all together and added that extra five stars was the VERY friendly and helpful staff that were there. Arcadia Cafe , is certainly a MUST VISIT, in my opinion. I am considering it as a "once a month brunch worthy" trip with the family and friends.
Love this little town restaurant! The food is very good and not over priced either! It also has a bigfoot and pool table! The owner is a delight ! And and and, she's a freedom fighter ! Love her personality and positivism she possess even though she defied the lockdowns in this little town against all odds! Amazing people like you, are making a huge difference in this craziness world we are living in for 2.5 yrs! Try this place, it is just a lovely comfy and good restaurant
I must say I was quite impressed with a small town cafe/diner like this. Good selection, decent seating arrangements and excellent coffee. There's a play place for kids, it may get loud that way but it's a family location. If it was easier for a city slicker to go back I would.
SO glad we stopped in for lunch today. What an amazing little spot, food was delicious and service was even better. If you havent had a chance to try out Arcadia Cafe please do! You wont regret it.
The perfect place for families to stop for lunch on the way out to the dinosaur museum. There’s a little kids play area, an arcade, a pool table, football table, used books, DVDs, pottery, and hand-knit dolls for sale. The food is delicious I had the BLT and made when ordered. The espresso/coffee is excellent and made with a beautiful Italian Bezzera machine. The woman who owns the place is charming and clearly loves her community. Highly recommend.
Great food and great staff! If you have a big appetite try the "Arcadia Burger" absolutely amazing homemade burger!!
The best breakfast EVER.We have been travelling BC and Alberta and this is the best and nicest breakfast we have had.Well worth a stop if passing by
Been here several times now, and both the service and food have been excellent. I also was extremely happy with their burgers as they had so much flavor without the need of condiments or extras. Best burger patty I have had in nearly 8 years. I appreciate even more that they are continually trying to explore new hours and menu items.
Amazing hidden gem just a 45 minute drive from Calgary. Paid $26 for 2 meals and a piece of chocolate pie which is very affordable. Also if you’re a fan of interesting flavoured syrups in your coffee/hot chocolate then this is a place for you as they have quite a selection. I really appreciate them standing up for themselves and staying open for dining in as well as takeout. Make sure you come support them!
Fantastic local Cafe, great good, small town feel. Love it hereFood: 5/5
