The hotel has some great modern features but is definetly in need of some minor touch-up/renos. Felt a bit run down with scuffed walls, crinkled paper door notices, dirty carpets and empty vending machines. The hotel procedures were questionable like locking the main doors at night and having no staff after 11pm made the place feel a bit sketchy.nnStaff was skimpy with only 1 person working at any time in the building. We often had to go to the bar to find someone to help us as there is no one at reception which was weird. Rarely saw housekeeping but we were not staying long so we had enough supplies to last our trip.nnRoom was decent but in need of touch-up renos on the scuffed walls/furniture. Bed was very dated and uncomfortable to sleep in. TV was oddly placed on a table unplugged wall mount was empty above and was facing away from the bed which made it awkward to view.nVery noisy room so not good for light sleepers as the walls are thin. You can hear everything from vehicle doors being slammed from the Offsale customers outside to the exit doors outside the room. A/C is nice but extremely loud.nnThe food/drink at the bar were good and the staff were friendly but service was slow due to lack of staff. They literally had 1 person to run the bar, till and serve food which was weird to have no staff on a busy weekend.nnThe one positive thing about the hotel was it was close to amenities like the bakery, Co-op and being only a half hour away from Gimli.nnOverall it was okay, not great and if it wasn't for all the other hotels being booked up around Gimli at the time I probably would not stay here again. Its a good last resort hotel if you need it but there are better hotels in the surronding area you can stay at instead.
We stayed here for the weekend to attend a wedding. Was very pleased with the service the hotel was great. Rooms are what you would expect for the cost. The lady running the front desk was very nice. Tons of signage to let you know what you need to for the hotel and restaurant. We would stay here again!
Possibly Manitoba’s worst hotel, and I’ve stayed at the Capri Motel in the past… So that’s saying something.nn- Horrible management / and a staff with zero knowledge of hospitality or customer service.n- They make up prices for their food items and charge what they want even if the price is stated on their printed menus.n- Management with zero knowledge of menu or food in general. A double cheeseburger does not mean a single burger with 2 slices of cheese.n- I’ve found old food wrappers while moving the night stand to plug in my phone charger.n- Used essential toiletries from previous room occupants re sealed for next occupant, not replaced with new ones.n- Food from previous room occupants left in fridge.n- Bathtub with bar soap stains running all down the tub.n- No 24/7 on site staff in case of emergency.n- Emergency phone number usually take 3-4 times before it gets picked up and management is annoyed to accommodate.n- The list goes on and on.nnThe only thing I can say about this place is it has really good pizza. That is all.
The rooms serve their purpose and they are clean.nHaving the TV on a table or something where it could actually be seen would've been cool as it was on table that couldn't be moved so it was faced away from the bed .nEven a swivel wall mount would work so it could face the bed or the couch. There was a mount on the wall but for whatever reason the TV wasn't on the mount.nOn the upside though, staff are very friendly and kind .
Don't, I repeat don't waste your time and money at The Arborg Hotel. Got our room from a rude lady in the bar, who took forever to enter my credit card and data on the computer. Room had a broken window, toilet tissue dispenser had been torn off the wall. Halls had no lights on, the vending machines were empty, no ice machine. Sunday morning hauled out luggage down the stairs, only to find a bar and padlock on the front door, and a sign saying to use the rear entrance on second floor. Pathetic!! Never again!!
