Apollo Cinema, located near downtown Kitchener, offers a distinctive movie-going experience. Though it features only one screen, the spacious seating arrangement adds to the comfort. Interestingly, half of the seats come with small tables, making it convenient for snacking or sipping a drink during the show.nnThere are plenty of paid parking options nearby, so finding a spot isn’t usually an issue. The snack counter offers a good selection, including beer, which adds a nice touch to the casual and relaxed atmosphere.nnI had a lovely experience here overall. One thing to note is the washroom setup – they are unisex, which might be a bit discomforting for some visitors. One washroom includes a standing urinal, while the other has enclosed cabins for added privacy.nnIf you're looking for a cozy, indie-style theatre experience, Apollo Cinema is definitely worth checking out.
I just recently came to the Apollo Cinema for the SteveO late show 10PM on April 5th.nnPROS:nnThe venue had very comfortable seats and there was a great view from anywhere in the venue!nnMerch pricing was very reasonable. Usually pricing is very expensive at comedy shows or concerts because the venues will also want to take a cut. This shows that Apollo is very fair! Tour Hoodie was $60, 2 Signed Book Bundle 1 Hardcover and 1 Softcover for $45, 2 Drink Koozie Covers $10, 2 Signed Prints $40nnQueue was inside! We are able to stay warm before the show and not have to freeze in the cold!nnGeneral Admission Seating in a seated theatre!! This initially was a con but it was honestly such a cool experience I loved it! We showed up 8:35PM doors: 9PM, show 10PM and we got the last 2 seats on the front row and had an amazing time. SteveO walked in for the intro of the show right beside my dad because he had the aisle seat!nnWe were able to get out of the venue within 5 minutes and my dad was even able to meet SteveO before he got to his tour bus!nnCONS:nnNo VIP tickets available but this isn't the venues fault.nnMerch table was difficult to navigate. Enter and Exit signs were made with pieces of paper with sharpie. Lighting was very minimal around the table and it was very difficult to see the pricing. There was no large sign with the prices or a large list. There was a small piece of paper with the merch pricing and there was no arrow or anybody letting you know where the pricing was.n_________________________________________nnOverall, we had a wonderful time and we will definantly be back to the Apollo Cinema!
Used to love the Apollo for the selection of films that spanned all genres. It was a great place to see foreign films, indie films, and they'd even play classics like the remastered Exorcist. The drunken cinema, burlesque shows, and Saturday morning cartoons were awesome. Recommend going to the Princess now.
I purchased a years membership before the new owners. I would like my money back for the membership. I have ZERO interest in Indian films. I loved the old classics they use to show. The Sat morning cereal and cartoon showings were AMAZING. Now I am just sad to see it go.
Went to see The Apprentice at the @Apollo Cinema and it was a great experience! It was my first time there. The theatre was clean and the staff were very nice! The movie was compelling but also shocking and disturbing at times. I enjoyed the acting in the movie and felt they captured the 1970's very well. If Donald Trump interests you and you want to know how he became the way he is today I recommend this movie!
