Best meal of our entire trip in Canada. I strongly advice to stop here and try the planches filled with local products. Very friendly hosts.
I accidentally entered the depths of the mountains and entered a small shop owned by a young couple. The girl is from Quebec and the boy is a French guy who immigrated to Canada. At first I thought it was an ordinary grocery store selling various ingredients. Later, I accidentally chatted with the female owner, and I realized that this is a restaurant where you can choose your own ingredients, and then the male owner will process the ingredients creatively. The ingredients inside are all locally produced, they also breed their own bees, and the honey and many sauces in the store are made by themselves. This is the first time I have encountered this model of independently selecting vegetables and processing them at the store. We randomly selected an eggplant, a tomato, two bell peppers, a pack of carrots, an onion, and a small carton of eggs. In my mind, I worked hard to imagine how they would be paired in the end... In the end, the male protagonist served these foods like magic, which amazed me! The total, including tax and tip, was less than fifty Canadian dollars. The hostess said that they improved and absorbed some elements they found interesting based on French cuisine. I jokingly said: We spent the least money to eat the most delicious and high-end French cuisine! By the way, the beer is very delicious, with a slight honey flavor. There are different choices, you can ask the hostess for introduction. In the end, there were three eggs left, and the host thoughtfully boiled them and packed them back for us with ice packs.
We stopped on a Saturday looking for a grocery store to eat on the go. It was not our surprise to discover a concept between the grocery store and the restaurant, where after having chosen the products that we wanted on the display, they were prepared for us on a superb aperitif-style board to enjoy around dinner. 'a beer with honey!nThank you again for this moment, and good luck!
We are French tourists on vacation in Sainte-Rose-du-Nord and we were delighted to discover this place and the excellent Quebec products that are showcased there. Much better than what you can find in supermarkets and at equivalent or even more affordable prices! This is a place not to be missed if you like quality products.
Great discovery. Whether to buy local products or to eat there, I recommend this address.
