Hi this place was amazing! I called only two days before and was able to book a canoe for a long weekend. They were super helpful and got us outfitted with a map and some food we forgot to pack. Loved talking with everyone working there. They also had the canoe dropped of at the crane lake boat dock already so we didn't have to strap it to the car, all we had to do is follow her down to where they stored it. Returning the canoe was super easy we just left it at the dock and checked out with them at the shop. Loved it and will use them when we come back tobthe great north.
Took care of everything while planning our trip to the Boundary Waters and Quetico. Permits, boat trip in, they have bait, and we stayed in their cabins the night before too
A super nice woman got us a reservation super last minute and helped us get the canoe and get all settled, no canoe portage needed it was right at the dock. Canoe was in excellent condition and easy to maneuver and check in/out was easy. If youre forgetting something they may have it, plenty of camping food staples, fishing supplies, maps, and crane lake merch. Would recommend going here and supporting small biz, as a woman i felt super well taken care of in a type of store that usually makes me feel unsupported.
I was shocked at how blatantly disrespectful their taxi drivers are to canoers on the water. My husband and I recently paddled through Crane Lake into Loon Lake, and any time one of their canoe taxies passed they were driving full throttle!!! They were always the fastest boat on the water. We had around 6 or 7 of their boats pass us during our time up there. There was one occasion when we were passing through a narrow and their taxi came flying through and nearly slammed us into the rock ledge. NONE of the taxies slowed down at all, at any time. It's appalling that a company whose sole purpose is to cater to canoers can give zero cares to the ones paddling near them. So dangerous.
Good People, Stop and say Hi to Sarah ! They have Everything you need to go catch that Record Walleye ! Paul Hamlin.
We love Anderson's! Family-run company that is responsive and attentive to the needs of their customers. Very welcoming and friendly when you arrive. Great advice on routes, portages, fishing, etc. We've used them for towing into the Quetico Lac La Croix entry points, and they're always super reliable, knowledgeable, and helpful. Just an FYI, they having a yearly fishing contest for the main 4 species smallmouth, walleye, pike, lake trout. The customers with the longest catch for each win a free tow I think -- check with them for details. We didn't know about it until we came out!
I used Anderson's as my outfitter to Quetico and they handled absolutely everything. Everyone was so friendly, the supplies were perfect in type and quantity, and the transportation was timely. I would absolutely recommend Anderson's to all my friends and family whether they're going out for a day of fishing or a month long excursion.
They are great to their guests. Very accommodating and well stocked. They have great alternatives to the Quetico Trip on the US side. Very knowledgeable and will help you through the entire process.
We use Andersons year after year, love their service and they treat us like friends.
A can't say enough good things about Anderson Outfitters. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable on all things boundary waters. The Kevlar canoes we rented where in great shape and the outfitter shop had everything one might need. This family run business impressed me a lot. The location might be a bit further north than other outfitters, but the remoteness of this area of the bwca is incredible
