Visited this place with friends and had a good time! The inside space is great, plus they have a lovely outdoor patio with music stage overlooking the river. They have an elaborate menu and all of the food my table ordered was pretty good minus the poutine which was fairly pathetic and extremely over priced. They do all sorts of fun events like meat raffles and bingo and special breakfasts.
Everything you need for a weekend of fun is here. Located on Rock River between Rockford and Madison. Good food and drink. Lawn games and a variety of rentals nearby. Great venue for music.
We came here from out of town to get some bloody Marys ended up staying for hours, there were doing raffles through out the day and night and had a blast. If I am in the area I will be stopping by again, I recommend you do the same.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes

Rare, downgrade to a 1 star. YIKES! Second visit. First time was pretty good. Not so much this time… Went here for an early dinner on Father’s Day. Sat down and server said he would be right there. The table next to us was seated. He took their order and never looked over. When he brought their appetizers he still never stopped by. We finally flagged down a server in training who took our drink order. Another 30 mins passed still nothing. The original server then took the other tables dinner order. At this point we noticed the table across from us was equally mad. The server then came by and asked us if we wanted menus which he gave us at least 45 mins earlier. I explained that we’ve been waiting and he just walked away… We went to find a manager and a bar tender told us there isn’t really one… what was going on?? And it wasn’t even that busy. We were very polite given the situation and still nothing. Usually not this straight forward on a review but it is deserved. Never an apology or anything. After at least an hour the kids got restless so we finally gave up and left. Would have loved to hear what the manger had to say about the situation… if only I could have found one…
This is actually 3.5 stars, but alas that's not an option. There is NO PLACE quite like the Anchor in the area. It's huge. It's newly remodeled after a fire a couple years ago. It's on the Rock River. And the entertainment is AMAZING! We love going for the bands that play out on the water! and the atmosphere. Staff is friendly but hit or miss on how good of a server they are/attention. The reason it's not 5 star is the food. It's not terrible, but it's rarely great. We had onion straws which were great, but the nachos seemed like they were sitting for a bit before we got them and weren't good. We let the server know and he said he knew they were fresh and this was his first complaint. We were just letting him know so they could correct it for others. Again, you go for the atmosphere and music and fun, so we'll definitely be back.
This place is absolutely excellent. We've only been three times, but each time has been excellent. I especially like their nachos, but the fries are incredible. They serve massive portions, but the food is so good a few minutes in the air fryer brings it right back to restaurant style freshness, so keep your leftovers! They have six distinct sauces in containers at each table; try them all! Each one is uniquely good, and none taste like sauce from somewhere else. I really like the honey Sriracha.
We were there yesterday for the meat raffle. Food and drinks were great! Fun Atmosphere with college football games and music. Meat raffle was a blast and won a lot of cool stuff. Owner was very nice and even helped a kid sell all of her chocolates for a fundraiser. Highly recommend!
Great food, awesome music, 10 of us for my Birthday. Service was wonderful. Truly nothing but a wonderful time with my family. Try it when you're in the area.
Great atmosphere, great place to hang out with your friends for the day. The servers work their butts off because they are always under staffed. The kitchen took a forever to get our food out, & was not warm when it came to the table. But all & all we still like to come here & have a good time.
