Amex Quality Roofing Systems Ltd

The current company owner refuses to honor their warranty as he feels that, as the new owner, he doesn't not have to honor warranty's issued by the previous owner. We bought the roof 10 years ago and were given a 25-year warranty. He was very rude and absolutely refused to honor any of the previous owner's warranties. As he is conducting business under the original company name we feel he is morally obligated to honor the original warranty. NOTE: The warranty is in my wife's name; Marianne R.

Called their phone service for a repair. I asked for a price but was told to talk to the onsite person. I had a call and arranged for a time. I heard them outside and went to great them. At this point, a ladder was up against the house. I spoke to the second person and showed him damage inside the house. When we exited the house, they found an uplifted shingle and glued it down. I asked again about price and he said they had to check the warranty and would bill me. The time taken was about 10 minutes but no more than 15 minutes to repair the leak. The bill arrived for over $300 about 2-3 weeks later. A call to their service manager and said the price was unreasonable for the amount of time taken. I asked why he started work without authorization and he said they never wait if the amount is less than $300-400. He wouldn't budge on the price, said he was forwarding the bill to the credit bureua and said his time was too valuable to waste talking to me and hung up. In all fairness, they did repair the leak but their handling of the dispute on price was terrible. I would ensure if you ever do work with Amex that you get it in writing, and make sure they quote you a price.

We hired Amex Roofing several times over the past 30+ years, for maintenance and repairs to roofs and chimneys at various properties, plus twice to re-roof our family's residence. Their professionalism and reliabilty is commendable, but it is the management's honesty which prompts me to write this review. The second re-roofing was necessitated because the shingles showed pre-mature aging, which is typically not covered by a shingle manufacturer's warranty. Although no leakage was evident, Amex advised us to replace the roof before potential problems would arise, and recommended to do so while its still covered by the long term Amex guarantee. We are impressed with a level of service and honesty that's well beyond expectation. Thank you Amex!
