Wonderful guided tours by knowledgable history buffs some in period costume. Been many times and learn something new each time. Very interesting assortment of artifacts in this historic building
My second visit, this time we had a more verbose guide who was very interesting. Well worth a visit for any history buff, but give yourself a good couple of hours.
The docents here are really informative and know all kinds of details that make the history more interesting. We learned so much and had a great time here. Spent a couple hours looking through the museum and reading the parts we were interested in which was most of it :-.

We stopped here as a spur of the moment decision while travelling to Portsmouth NH. What a brilliant decision, our whole trip was made fantastic by our super friendly and knowledgeable volunteer who guided us round. Exhibitions were well laid out, lots of fascinating details and objects.
What a great independence festval today and what a treasure for the state of NH!
