Alterna Savings Credit Union is very supportive of student groups. It was easy to create an account and we'd rather be banking with a credit union than a bank! For those that don't know credit unions are owned by us as members rather than rich people.
Before COVID19 went to in to try to open an account. I should have checked the reviews.
This credit union discriminates against people based on race. I opened a bank account with Maryiam Ahmad and left without online access and she did not give me my direct deposit details. When I called in to her office she said "I did not request it" and stated that is the reason why she did not provide it.
Don't both doing your banking here.
I switched my account here from BMO and I couldn't be happier! The staff are super friendly and helpful and there are no line-ups when I go.
