Food was good; final bill included far more unexpected charges than experienced at any other similar restaurant. Disappointing. Will likely not return. UPDATE - Alouette did reach out to me regarding my experience, which I appreciated, and were receptive to feedback. I have updated the rating accordingly, and will try them again. As mentioned, the food and service up until the bill was good.

Friendly greeting on arrival and a great staff member serving us. Ordered a large selection of the menu for our table. Everything was good with the exception of the steaks. They do not have a sear and came to the table slightly cold. About an hour into our dinning, the waitress stopped coming to the table, but they did become very busy in that time. Took awhile to get offered dessert or the check, but we where in no rush.

Beef tartare was special, pretty good. Lamb was good, duck was overcook. However, the service was AWFUL. We went in with a birthday cake in hand, received no greetings. Sit at the table for 8 minutes, no one came to serve. Also,You have to ask them to fill your empty water glass. Served food super slow, waited 37 minutes after we finished appetizer, with two empty water glass. Never care to ask “how is the food?”. TBH, even a street side pho place does better than this.

Had dinner here on a weekday. We ordered the steak tartare, foie gras mousse, boullabaise small size and crepe Suzette for dessert. Steak tartare - the colour of the beef was a bit gray which kind of put us off but the flavour was not bad. I liked the addition of the salted egg yolk. I like that they mix it at tableside. I didn't enjoy the bread that went with it. Foie gras mousse - don't get this. It's very creamy but didn't taste like foie gras at all. The crunchy brioche on the other hand was very delicious. It goes really well with the steak tartare above. Boullabaise small size was more than enough to feed the two of us. There was a lot of seafood in this and the flavours were really good. Crepe Suzette portion was huge. Could have fed 4 people as it had 4 crepes. The the ice cream and whipping cream were extremely delicious and very necessary to go with these crepes. Overall: portion size is pretty big. The flavours are okay. Would recommend getting the boullabaise but I wouldn't go back again. I would give them a 3.5. The atmosphere is for sure a bit old school but very relaxing and comfortable.

Excellent service by Wanita as always! Food is excellent! Escargot, foie gras, baked Brie and table side prepared steak tartare are all delicious! The steak and the lamb rack are great! The desserts are mouthwatering. We love the staff, friendly and warm!

Was really disappointed with the experience. Came here for NYE dinner with my wife and was expecting a great food and great service. Both were average at best. Our food took forever to come. It took 45 minutes to get our appetizers. Then another 30 minutes in between the appetizers and the main course. The server who was in training couldn’t even get our water order correctly. We got the beef tartar and it was bland. He forgot to add the salt. The bone marrow we ordered only had bone and no marrow. The steak my wife ordered was about 2 ounces.. paying $40 for 2 ounces of steak is ridiculous. Look at our picture compared to other reviews on here.. such a disappointment from this place Will not be returning and will not be recommending this establishment to anyone. The ambience was nice and the staff was friendly. Just inexperienced.

Food was decent. Menu was fairly small. Service was amazing, staff checks in often to make sure we were doing ok. Atmosphere is nice and quiet if you sit in the corner. The restaurant has a good vibe with beautiful design. Open kitchen can see chef cooking. Good selections of wine available. Price is decent as well.Food: 4/5

I ordered the Bouillabaisse on a recommendation from our server. She said it was a large portion which appealed to me. It was good, but the portion was small and left me hungry. The mustard sourdough and fish was quite good but wasn’t much there. Everyone else’s dishes looked good but small portions. For the price and my experience on this visit I will not be back.

Visited for lunch on a weekday. We opted for the $49 dine out menu with bread & butter for an additional $6. Very euro and whimsical decor. A few tables upstairs are perfect for romantic dining. Service was friendly but our waiter seemed to struggle as the upstairs level was full mid way through our lunch. We had to flag him down for our desserts and the bill. We watched obvious business men sat down after us but left well before us guessing that the waiter was focusing on expediting their lunches. As for the food ... it is unfortunate that the food was 'ok'. We hoped to add Aloutte to our regular dining venues but sadly we won't be doing so. The food in general was not elevated at all to justify the usual menu prices. Basically Aloutte's food is slightly higher if not comparable to room service fare. Au revoir Aloutte c'est la vie!
