We come here every year. The lake is always warm, clear, and beautiful. The kids love the sandy, shaded beach. The middle bathrooms could use an update; showers are cold. Great camp store with pizza, ice cream, and delicious homemade donuts. Over the lake is an unparalleled spot to view the spectacular sunsets. It's a family tradition!
Loved our stay at this campground! I've been camping my whole life, and hadn't been here since the late 90's. Loved it then and love it now.
My husband and I went camping for the first time... EVER... Aloha state park was beautiful, clean and the camp sites had everything you need! We will be coming here again!
My visit was a short one but from what observed while cycling through, the park is clean with several nice picnic areas. The bike repair station along the North Eastern State Trail is well supplied with tools and pump.
This was a great little park! The views of the lake area fabulous. I like that there was firewood available on site. Rail to trail bike path us accessible right from the park. Bathrooms are clean. Probably some of the FRIENDLIEST campers I have ever met were at the park. It got very cold the night we stayed, so it was nice to have a less crowded vibe. Would stay here again!
Been coming to aloha state park for 30 years! These are great camp grounds that stay dry most of the time. Mullet lake is one of the best inland lakes around, and is deep, sandy and clear! It looks like the tropics sometimes! What a great place to visit and bring your family for years to come.
Wonderful park! Dogs allowed near playground area. Not overly busy and really quite beautiful. The shoreline is a little rocky so bring water shoes if you plan to swim. The water is nice and clean and there's wild mint growing along the banks, it smells amazing. Great little spot.
State Park with lots of camping spots, lots of water frontage and beaches, and a lot of green space. If you enjoy pontooning, pleasure boating, jet skis, or more like kayaking and canoes, this is a great place to use as home base. Saw some stellar sunsets here. Lake is a nice sandy bottom lake great for swimming. Location is nice as it’s 10 miles from Cheboygan and 25 miles from Mackinaw city. The semi-famous Aloha Camp Store is right outside the park and has great donuts.
The sites are all grass no gravel or concrete which is fine until it's rainy. Our site was pretty muddy when we arrived and leveling the camper was therefore impossible. BUT, the views are spectacular, the lake water is clean, the shower houses are clean. We'd go again.
We really enjoyed this park. It can get a little congested when it gets full of campers. The beach did have quite a few boats and watercraft anchored outside of swimming area but we swam outside of marked area to avoid coming close to other swimmers. Usually on the weekends. During the week it clears out a little. Clear water for swimming have a little walk out to get to deeper water but mostly sandy no muckyness. Decent rates daily power onsite camping but water and sewer at dump station not onsite. Recommend a Portable sewer dump container if your staying more then a few days . Overall we have enjoyed our time here at Aloha!
