I had ordered from Allwyn's awhile back since I found the on Uber Eats in Oshawa having tried them at their other locations before. It's a bit hidden away within a plaza, but once you see it you'll know. The place is a bit small, but it's mainly for takeout. I did a takeout order and everything was ready in a timely manner. I had ordered the Large Jerk Pork meal which was a big portion at an affordable price. The pork was cooked and seasoned well and the rice and peas/sides complimented everything well. Very friendly service.
I ordered a large Curry goat which came with three sides. I chose coleslaw, pickled peppers and corn. I was impressed with the generous portion sizes. The take out containers, as well as the cutlery were sturdy and supportive which was appreciated . The goat was delicious, but the real show stopper was the rice!! Hands down best ever rice and peas I've ever had. So much flavor. I can't wait to try some of the other menu items. This restaurant is located in a small plaza with free public parking.
I’m a long time Allwyns costumer, back from him first shop. I was so happy to see a new location pop up closer to my new home. We got a small oxtail, rice and peas and coleslaw. A patty and a chicken coco bread sandwich. The patty was excellent. Fresh, flaky with great filling. The chicken sandwich was flavorful but dry unfortunately. The oxtail was very tasty, great gravy, but the small meal had three pieces of oxtail, which were mostly made up of fat. For 15$…the oxtail meal was mostly rice. I’ll try again since taste was on point
Was sent here by recommendation and did not disappoint. The only thing I would change is getting help for the two lovely girls behind the counter. Yes it's a new place but they're only two people. Would have been nice if a third person was able to help as well. The food portions were perfect and the food was very very good. Will Definitely go back
Awesome food got the ox tail with three sides and a stuffed jerk pork patty,the flavors were outstanding and huge portions service was great too.If you are craving some Caribbean food then look no further give Allwyns Jamaica restaurant a try and see what the hype is all about.Food: 5/5

I think it’s more of a 3.5 star, but I rounded up. I’ve eaten here a couple times and it’s pretty good, certainly not the best jerk chicken I’ve had, but pretty good. It’s the best I’ve had in Oshawa though being as the other options aren’t great. I found the jerk chicken bone-in to be too dry when I got it. The large is a sizeable portion and a good deal. The jerk chicken sandwich was decent and the coco bread was tasty, though the jerk marinade had too much cinnamon in it. The patties are good, but I couldn’t tell the difference between mild and spicy. Overall, I have mixed feelings and was hoping Allwyn’s was going to be incredible after waiting in anticipation for them to open for so long.
I had the Jerk Chicken Sandwich with coleslaw. Absolutely delicious, chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Service was very friendly. Used to travel to Toronto near Lawrence to enjoy this tasty sandwich, now it's so close by. Looking forward to my next visit.Food: 5/5
I really wanted to like this place, I was so excited to see that there would be a new location popping up. I went there on a Saturday afternoon to order a stuffed sandwich. The wait was so long. They got my order wrong so I brought it back and made me wait forever just to correct it. I understand the place is new, cashier was new but at what point does someone experienced step in and help? She was clearly struggling and there are like 5 other staff standing around doing who knows what. Maybe I’ll come back in a few years when they gain more experience. The food wasn’t worth that wait.
OshawaFood use to have a higher quality and more seasoning. When catering the food quality was much much better. Will have to cater again and see. Would still recommend if you need some Caribbean good in a pinch!Food: 3/5
