This review is a bit dated but I still wanted to get it done. We tried Alice’s Village Cafe for the first time this summer for brunch and I must say I am going to be a regular there from now on. What a gem of a place! We visit the Carp Farmer’s market several times each summer and have seen this cafe buzzing with people so we knew it must be good. But the experience was very good. We were seated inside and was able to access the menu on the phone via the QR code on the table. We liked the idea of being able to order the meals we wanted via online and then subsequently pay for it via online all the while being seated at the table. The wait staff was friendly and checked in with us regularly to bring water and coffee and our food when ready. And the food tasted soo gooood! It was such a great experience overall. Will be going back and trying their lunch items in the near future!
Decent food and drink. Had the Buffalo chicken wrap. Have to say it's probably one of the best ones I've had in a long time. The craft ginger ale was also rather tasty. Was not a big fan of the kettle chips. Tasted a little burnt. Decently salted though. Not too much or too little. Really good bang for your buck. Especially considering the location. Was not able to finish my entire meal and I'm a fairly large man. My dish was $16 before taxes, so you get a fairly good amount for what you pay for. Highly recommend people stop by and try it if they are in the area.
Well worth the stop ! Homemade dishes, great local coffee shop and restaurant. They have vegan/lactose free options and deserts. I highly suggest to stop by when in or around Ottawa. Friendly staff with delicious food and drinks.
It's really about the vibe and location at Alice village cafe. A well-lit open interior of the cafe is a majority of the space. Small sunlight room in the back with a bench setup quite nice in the morning. Locally-sourced foods is a nice touch.
Stumbled across this jem on a country drive outting that ended in Carp. Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere, great service and delicious food at a good price, who could ask for anything more. We'll go back for sure.Food: 5/5
Fabulous! Freshly Made! Delicious and with so many menu options too. Friendly amd cozy atmosphere. Nice patio for sunny afternoons. Highly recommend!! Dietary restrictions: Great variety of gluten free options available
We wanted to try somewhere new for breakfast/brunch so we tried this place this morning. The menu seemed limited but we were very pleasantly surprised by the good price, portion sizes, taste, freshness and quality of everything. I had the breakfast BLT which was to die for, their home fries were amazing and their coffee was also really great. It has a really nice vibe as well, and the tables are spaced out enough where it doesn't feel cramped, which is always nice. Didn't get to try any of their baked goods, but we will definitely be back to try more another time.
Great way to start a day. The coffee comes in large mugs pipping hot. The food select, quality, and quantity were fantastic. Good vegetarian options for most menu items. Highly recommend on Farmer’s market days to get there a few minutes early and enjoy socializing in line while you wait. Even short staffed the service was quick. Even with an initial order confusion it was quickly rectified and we barely noticed the delay. The only item I would improve would be the home fries which were a bit over done and dry but the rest of everyone’s meals were top notch. Vegetarian options: Almost all menu items have vegetarian substitutions available Parking: Parking is available right outside the front door but it it is full, further street parking is available only a short stroll away.
Drove to Carp for a family engagement and stepped into Alice’s for breakfast. Coffee and juices took forever. Once our bevies came we enjoyed another long wait before our food orders were taken. Not sure if the chickens refused to lay cause yet again, we waited way too long for our food. Sausage patties were past due, cold eggs and butter wasn’t even melted on the toast. No, “would anyone like another coffee?” No napkins. No waters, had to leave my seat and ask for those… had to get up and ask to pay the bill! Friendly atmosphere doesn’t excuse poor quality food and terrible service. Maybe we hit them on a bad day, but in my breakfast world, Sunday is game day.
Very good lunch menu with sandwiches and soup. I did need to wait a while to be seated and then for someone to take my order because they were short-staffed. Would recommend as long as it is not busy. Parking: Some parking in front of the cafe, but also street parking up and down the block.
