I am disappointed to see the low reviews here - I feel like people are either impatient or have unrealistic expectations about a small community hospital.nnHaving come from an area with long wait times KW the ability to be seen in less than 5 hours is truly appreciated and the staff at Alexandra Hospital have always shown empathy and respect the few times I have needed to come here.nnWe are lucky to have a small community hospital that is 24/7 and the people who work here are amazing and truly care.nnFor what they cannot treat that day or with the equipment and specialists available when you arrive, they will ensure you are referred to a facility that can handle your situation.nnThanks for all you do in making public healthcare more accessible in smaller communities.
If you are having any kind of actual emergency in oxford county, choose Woodstock. The medical imaging is not available after 3pm apparently and bloodwork/xray only available til 11pm so we are told. There is no CT machine at all, so if you suspect it's anything serious, choose elsewhere. This hospital needs to do better by its staff AND patients. I feel for the nurses and doctors who work here with EMERGENCY above the door but with one hand tied behind their backs.
Don't waste your time going here if your visit isn't life threatening go to Bigger Hospitals like Woodstock or Tillsonburg I got A q-tip end stuck in my ear and I got there at 10:30 in the morning. And i asked Reception and they said it would be 1 or 2 Hours so I waited and after 2 hours 1was finally called into Emergencynnthen I was checked out by A Nurse and I was told the Doctor would he Right with me then I waited another Hour. And this Hospital is so understaffed with no sense of Urgency that another Nurse came in checked me out again and she took the Qtip out of my ear and it only took two Minutes so I wasted 4 hours and finally left at 2:30 for A 2 minute procedure. Next time I'm going to A bigger better staffed Hospital for life threatening events.
My husband was on the 3rd floor for over three months. The care he received was excellent. It was a difficult journey but all the staff made it easier. Thankyou. Even until the end of his life.
On December 31,2025,around 7 p.m,an ambulance was called for 70-years- old woman,she almost lost consciousness. When the ambulance arrived ,2 females from ambulance loaded the woman on stretcher,took off her coat and kept her near the ambulance for about 30 minutes in the cold -20C.She cried and almost froze,without a coat and hat.She asked bring her to the ambulance, but 2 woman were not in hurry they talked and laughed.
