learn detailed information about life of Alexander Graham Bell and his family and personal life. How his inventor skills formed up throughout his life and how he put them to work on each corner point of his life, even his marriage to a hearing impaired girl. Museum is well designed but seemed a little small to me. I was expecting a bigger exhibition, however Location is an amazing choice. Great vista point. Building is designed with A frame large wood beams and you can see triangular shapes all over citing his usage of tetrahedron in his works. Site is surrounded with a wonderful garden and landscaping. I was expecting to see more of his personal belongings and literature. Also presentations should be improved and live presentations should be spiced up for young generation. Anybody below 30 will not show any interest on this kind of presentation
Very educational tour, lots to learn and see. Great idea to bring children or school groups/tours. If you are in Nova Scotia, give it a look! "The site features artifacts donated in 1955 from the Bell family's personal museum. The site also features memorabilia associated with Bell's experiments, it contains the largest repository of artifacts and documents from Bell's years of experimental work in Baddeck."
As for myself, I enjoyed the Alexander Graham Bell historic museum, it was well decorated with history and interesting facts. The exhibits are quite large and detailed with lots of reading material. That said, I have two children and one found it quite boring. This is why I give it 3 stars, it may not be great for the whole family.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Great exhibits on Bells major inventions telephone and improvements on the telegraph, as well as his less succesful minor inventions. Bell tinkered incessantly with simple methods for solving problems. He even experimented with sheep breeding, in an unsuccessful effort to "develop a flock of sheep which would consistently bear twins". It is claimed however that he was able to breed a flock of multi-nippled sheep. Also a wonderful musical on Bell's life which is highly recommended.
Very interesting museum. I love the highlights on his personality and family life. His wife was an amazing person in her own right. Lots of artifacts from the Bell family.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

Nice day trip to A.G. Bell Museum!! So much inspiration and love for his wife, these two were an amazing couple. Great history, stories, artifacts, inventions. Lots of reading.
Such an amazing museum telling the story of Alexander Graham Bell - and how his work intertwined with Helen Keller who was his student, Thomas Edison, Marconi etc. His secretary became the editor of the New York Times. The story of a lifelong innovator and what drove him to invent. His work on telephones, graphophone, planes and hydrofoils is amazing.
Amazing visit to the Alexander and Mabel Bell museum. I knew about him primarily for the telephone, but there was so much more. The reconstructions and videos supported the many inventions and their involvement in implementing ideas that were decades before applied again.
This is one of the historic sites in Canada and rightly so. Without this man's invention I wonder where the world would have been. Really well maintained place in Baddeck, Cape Breton. There is a big and free parking lot available. Entry is really reasonable as we paid 17 dollars for 2 adults. Children for the most part gain free entry in Nova Scotia and this is a big money saver. The building is quite a big one and is divided into 2 parts. One shows the invention and history of the telephone and the other part shows his planes. He was instrumental in airplanes too and many people are not aware of this. I believe he had achieved some sort of flight even before the Wright Brothers!!! This property over looks the Baddeck dock area and what a beautiful view. Take your kids and show them one of the earliest dialing phones ever used. My daughter was playing with it and asked - Dad what is this ? You can also see his work and study area and is well worth your time and energy. And oh I forgot to add there is a wall of fame too with all the big celebrities from yester years.!!!
