Did you know eagles drooled & have tongues?? Me neither, but now I do! A simple facility, but educational and fun place with beautiful birds. We held owls, bathed eagles, fed ducks, watched an Eagle and also a Hawk show. Kids and adults can enjoy. Felt a bit pricey at first we were 6 people, paid $65 but you also get the sense of wanting to help and the up close experience with these majestic birds is unique. Might not go again, but definitely worth it once.
I’ve been wanting to stop and visit here for a while! So glad we finally made it here on our recent trip to Southern Alberta. What an amazing operation and foundation; the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and I learned so much about different birds. My favourite part were the 2 flying demonstrations and holding an owl. Highly recommend a visit here!
It is a wonderful world of owls, eagles, ducks and other birds of prey. Well managed and maintained with dedicated volunteers holding many shows in a day. We could participate in an owl show and eagle show. You can hold some of the birds in your hand and also pet them, a wonderful experience indeed. A big thanks to all the staff and volunteers for their dedicated time and efforts. Buy some duck food, souvenirs and donate money. A BIG Thanks for the experience and to be able to see them so close.
Been here 3 times in the last 1-2 months. Love coming every time! Feed the ducks and Canadian Geese. Look at all the birds. See a flight show. Get to hold owls. Pancake won me over day 1. Look forward to coming back more next season
What a great place to see amazing birds up close. The staff are very knowledgeable and we enjoyed their stories. I would go on a cooler day as the heat made me leave earlier than I wanted. Lots to see and learn
Awesome place to learn about eagles, hawks, and owls. Totally non-profit, and keeping things maintained, and the Birds are well cared for.
Just an amazing place to visit and you are helping to keep the operation to help more birds just by visiting. We made this a family outing for my mom sister and myself so a real blend of ages with of course me being the youngest in comparison to my sister. Back to the birds! We were able to watch and learn so much about the birds of prey at the hawk flight which is a must if you go. You proceed at your own pace which is nice so take a much time as you like or walking abilities, wear a decent walking shoe as you do have some walking to be able to enjoy all the birds. The best part, little did we know was the end when we entered the owl/ hawk amphitheater and being the last of the day were offered to hold a burrowing owl named Basil! This day just improved immediately let me tell you what not done with the owls. We were also able to hold Ophellia, so pretty she was a barn owl and then........A great horned owl named Gary. He was a big boy no doubt and had some heft to him. But all of us enjoyed it so much, even my older sister with her arthritic arms and shoulders was able to hold that little rascal Basil! Highly highly recommend to anyone looking for a learning, engaging day with the family come here you'll love it!
Excellent place to spend a cool summer day. They have hawks, owls and eagles in their own aviaries. You get to see the golden eagle in all its majestic glory without having a fence or a net in front of you. They are a non profit and all their revenue comes from ticket sales, merchandise sales and duck food sales. Truly one of the hidden gems in Southern Alberta
A beautiful non profit sanctuary! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, many species of hawks, owls and a few falcons to see. The eagle flight show is amazing! With help from staff you can hold a great horned owl or Basil the sweet burrowing owl. There are bags of feed you can purchase to feed the ducks and geese! Had a wonderful day!?
An excellent educational centre that the whole family can enjoy. The place is focused on rescue, rehabilitation and release of birds specifically birds of prey and educating people about the birds; their habitat, diet, etc. The foundation is 100% supported by donations and so all the entrance fees go back into running the operation and supporting the birds. They put on flight shows with the eagles and you can hold an owl too. They have aviaries and ponds to provide long term homes for the birds that can't be released. Also 2 large areas where birds are put on display and you can get a real close up view of them. Lots of interpretive displays throughout the grounds. They also do group and school tours. They have a gift shop too. I congratulate Wendy and Colin who founded the rescue facility and work so hard to keep it running, improving and growing. Well done. Go check the centre out, you won't be disappointed.
