The park itself is literally next to the Abbotsford airport. Has a decent sized lake where you could swim or boat. Has a small boat ramp and a nice little beach area too. There is a trail around the lake and a picnic area too. The parking is not too big and can fill up quickly
Pleasant walk on wide level gravel paths. Small beach and swimming area. Widely used in summer for waterskiing.
This is a hidden gem in Abbotsford. You really have to be heading for Albert Dyck Park as you wouldn't just tumble onto it. It is a man-made lake with a 1.7 kilometer trail around it. It is well maintained, but some dog owners are not being responsible. We saw folks swimming and fishing and there is a waterskiing club. The parking lot is small, but we always find a spot. Great for an evening walk. See you there.
Nice man-made lake with clear water, great for kayaking and paddle boarding. When we visited, the water quality was not safe to swim, but it does look like a great lake to take a dip in and I'm glad they test the water quality for safety. There is a sandy area and rocky areas on the shore as well and the sides are very steep and sloped. The best spot to set up for a picnic seems to be near the docks. There is a small parking lot and overflow parking as well as port-a-pottys. Would be nice if there were some trees to "hide" the cement plant adjascent go the lake because otherwise the scenery is beautiful.
It's a nice place! It's be great if the off leash dog area was bigger and fenced in, but other than that the water is refreshing and fairly clean. There is a water skii club there too, I believe! Lots of space. The parking fills up quickly though.
As far as a man made lake goes it's a good swimming hole. A little effort from patrons to clean up after themselves and some work by the city to make the shores and beaches nicer and it could shine.
Nice trail, never been before so I don't know how it will be in the summer, it is a nice walk around the lake and with a lot of nice spots with trees, nice ro bring your dog. A little dock for those who want to fish for fun. You will not find picknick tables, only sitting benches. There is a rental paddle boat and a small snack bar with drinks and sandwiches but nothing fancy, there is also a facility where you can waterskiing and a small swimming beach. I noticed there is a chicken barn right beside and my only concern is how it will be when hot temperatures will hit the spot with the smell of chicken manure.
This is my go-to spot for a sunny day. Whether I go for the day or just an hour... my kids and I love it. The swim area has lovely sand and easy access to the water. The path around the lake is also easy for kids on wheels or foot. Paddle boards, kayaks and canoes welcome. There is no source of water though... so make sure you bring lots.
Great place all year round to get some exercise for your self and your hounds, While you do find a mix of off leash, Flexi/long lead and/or on a "normal" leash, most folks are responsible about calling in/leashing up their free running dog once they come across a leashes dog. Swimming n water sports are a welcome addition come summer warm up, Quite a photogenic Lake as well...never make it round without shooting at least 59-100 shots lol
Home of Fraser valley water ski club. Nice intown 1.6 km loop wheelchair stroller friendly walk. Good fishing few different species. Pet friendly. nice place to cool down in summer.
