Great place for a Poke fix. I would not rank this place as good as what you would expect from Poke in Hawaii, where Tuna is fresh and marinated. Al’oha poke bowl is a great choice for those who don’t want to build there own. They do try and upsell you on the avocado so if you don’t mind paying extra go for it they don’t tell you it’s a $2 extra charge.Sauce was excellent, I’d recommend the regular rice with Poke, but some prefer sushi rice. It’s a food cart at the end of Tofino among others. I’m glad I tried it and would go there again.
Let me start off with saying I am very particular with how I like my raw fish. Al’oha Poke did a phenomenal job! The tuna was absolutely delicious, nice and fresh, while being complimented with the other ingredients mixed into the bowl. I got the O.G. Bowl with edamame added, as well as the Squid Tostata. The staff who create these awesome bowls and tostadas are lovely, they are welcoming and kind, and despite being busy they still deliver quality products. Location wise, it’s grouped near some other small establishments, which is honestly perfect because you can treat yourself to a desert next door, or if a family or friend wants some different kind of food, there are options. If you’re in Tofino this is definitely a place you should visit! I would make it my regular spot if I lived there.
Friendly shop keeper and only Poke place we could find in Tofino. Might not compare to Hawaii or Poke bar in Richmond but close so giving it 5 as it’s best town as we were all happy with the flavour and freshness. I tried the Quinoa in the Alohas bowl while others tried the rice in the OG bowl. Everything was great!
Tried the OG poke bowl and it was DELICIOUS. There was no line up and i love that they use wooden forks! A little pricey for the portion size #justTofinoThings but worth it in my opinion
We were camping in Tofino and listening to the radio how the owner had recently opened Al’oha Tofino. We were touched by his personal story and wanted to show our support. We are so glad we went, the service was friendly and quick. The poke bowls were some of the best I’ve had, the only thing is I wish I could put more topping on! The tostada were delightful. Instead of waiting in long lines at some of the other places in Tofino, head over to this hidden gem, it doesn’t disappoint.
Love the BYOP bowl. The toppings are fantastic. Great place to grab a bowl and go, or sit in the comfy chairs near by.
We went to Al’oha Poke on our first night in Tofino and loved it so much that we went back each night after! I consider myself a poke bowl connoisseur I take them very seriously and this is the best one I have ever had. I don’t say that lightly! The toppings are SO FRESH and they do not skimp on the portion sizes. The fish is amazing and the sauces are so good. There is a ton of variety and the bowls are fresh, healthy and delicious. The staff was so friendly and they took time to greet each customer, even when they were busy. We had a consistently great experience each night! and would recommend this place as a great dining choice in Tofino that is well worth the cost.
Technically the tostada tasted good, but charging $16-17 for 7 small pieces of fried calamari with coleslaw on 2 chips is insanely bad value. The poke bowls looked better.
Had the OG, good tuna and comes with good sauce. Only drawback is they used regular white rice, sushi rice would have earned a 5. Nonetheless would recommend for a good lunch stop in Torino
Finding this gem in Tofino was one of the most memorable and delicious meals of our time in BC. The chef is extraordinary at flavours, thoughtful about gluten free, and offers one of the best menus to choose from. I am celiac and the owner makes all but one sauce gluten free, including the best deep friend calamari I’ve ever had. You just can’t find fresher and more value for a meal anywhere in Tofino!!
