It has nice views near the river. Trail is partially destroyed by the river and some of it is still covered with flood mud, but there are no problems with going thru any part of the path.
For sure one of the neatest parks along the river! The playground is small but it works, there are benches right near the playground area, the bathrooms have hot water and it has a covered picnic area. The biggest down side was this weirdo sitting across from the playground. He was so bold as to pull out BINOCULARS to watch our little girls on the dish swing! And before anyone tries to give the benefit of the doubt, I AM that person that gives it. However, no matter where my girls were, he was watching and they were the only kids in the park. The scariest part is he had a blue flood lights where his front plate should've been, a thin white light bar across the roof and a neon yellow reflective vest so... yes, he can appear "official" TRUST ME: He was a PERV! When I approached him and asked him if everything was OK, he wouldn't look at me and just replied, "Everything's fine" He kept his hand by his face on the side so I couldn't get a thorough look at him but he's got wire-framed glasses, Brown scruffy hair, wears a baseball cap and has a mustache. He's short, around 5' 7"- 5' 9" Aside this dude: The park is perfect!
Easy access to the Skykomish river. There's quite a bit of beach area as well as restrooms, picnic tables, walking trails and loads of parking. So no matter if you want to hangout next to the river and play in the water or have a picnic in the shade when it's hot out or take a long hike for some solitude or walk your dog or just sit in your car and enjoy the view this park has it all! Just remember to keep your furry friend on a leash and clean up after him/her! This park checks all the boxes... Two thumbs up!
Beautiful hike highly recommended, easy and majestic. I wish it had a map for the paths or perhaps some directions aids when you get multiple paths. All the park was clean and people applied social distancing. One part of the path was completely flooded and made me go back. It's a must hike!
Good place to get in touch with nature with beautiful scenery along riverside trails that are enjoyable and easy enough for the whole family to enjoy. Make sure you read all the literature along the way so you can learn the history of Monroe and the natural habitat that you are walking through.
I came to Monroe for COVID-19 vaccine, and after that, I decide to do a short walk nearby before I feel comfortable to drive home. This place is very close to the vaccine place and easy to walk, I love the river with the view of mountains.
I love this park. Well maintained and clean, nice trails, easy access to the river, and there's an abandoned train track and bridge that goes through the forest! I got some very unique photos here and spent a good 2+ hours just wandering the trails with my best friend, and we still only saw a small portion of what this park has to offer. I am looking forward to visiting again.
Not as bad as some of the reviews say. There are sketch areas that look sketch from far away. Just don't go in those areas. There is plenty of room to explore elsewhere. Lots of water access. The trail is wide enough to accommodate traffic both ways with no one squeezing. It is a Sunday in July and I saw about 12 people. All of them had AT LEAST one dog.
This place is awesome. The trails are well-maintained and the views of the river are stunning. The water looks so clear I actually drank from it. Good idea? Only time will tell. There's nice areas to park in there's plenty of shade there's grassy areas with lots of sun. If I could give this place 10 Stars instead of 5 I would. The other people I encountered were friendly and were able to control their dogs. The picnic area is really nice also. There's one down in the trail area at one of the trailheads and there's a covered picnic area at the South End of the park.
Loved this little park. Great access to the river and nice established trees. The river forced silt and dirt all over the pathways which was neat to see.
