Came in around 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was quiet and only one other table was there. Two waitresses let us know that we can sit wherever we want, got seated and were provided with cutlery and warm and cold water. We ordered the karage chicken appetizer, 1 garlic soup base with steak, and 1 pork katsu curry Don. The karage chicken was a different type of deep fried, had a nice shell and was served with sweet and sour sauce. Garlic soup base was great, but the steam piece was not the best. It was a very fatty piece of meat, with a thinner cut which meant my meat was well done by the time the noodles came around. The pork katsu was amazing, it had a beautiful crispy crust and the pork was nice. I really liked the decor in the restaurant, it seemed more modern and new. The wooden and metal chairs did not look comfortable, but the booths were nice. Staff are attentive and helpful. As this was a Sunday and still the weekend we were surprised when we were informed that multiple items on the menu were sold out. The takyokai, ramune marble drinks, and the tomyun soup base were all out. Will be back.
Why does the broth taste like something I'd get from an instant noodles packet. Just my opinion probably because the instant noodle companies are just really good nowadays Would not recommend the pork tonkatsu. Dry and hard. Hurts the roof of my mouth. Takoyaki was great!! This, I would recommend. Very, very good. Well it might depend on personal preference, my friend didn't really like the mayo and sauce. Noodles were fine. Soup was salty...in a nice way. Portion size was good, I'd say a bit above average. Would have been nice if they served the other half of the egg haha... Parking: Lots of parking, don't worry :
Went there last night. Disappointed because the server seems did not like me just giving 12% tips. Face changed immediately, didn't say thank you after I paid and did not say bye to us where I heard her said same thing to other tables. Also at the beginning, server forgot to clean our table prior serving me and my friend customers left and we asked to sit right after from another larger table - it was the only table available . I ordered spicy beef ramen; noodle was ok, thought would suprise me more. Beef portion seems a bit less and the soup base was salty. Would recommend to use organic green onion since I couldn't smell or taste it. The only things I like were the egg and the red pepper - it was a bit spicy and I told my friend about it. The server stared at me two times and gave me a look of "then why you order a spicy one?! Now that I have to give you more water ...” But I actually didn't ask for more of anything and she didn't bring us anything too. What I did was just hand sanitized my hands prior to start eating. I didn't even bother them to show me where the hand sanitizer was. My friend ordered curry chicken rice and the chicken was oily with dark yellowish brown color. Won't go back again due to the poor customer service. . The one in Yonge is much better but I don't think I would like to visit Ajisen Ramen for at least a year. Very poor service. I felt discomfort of the environment.
I was curious to check out this location. It was nice. Quite tiny compared to other locations I've been to. The waitress was cute and nice. I was disappointed by them not having stamps. But she was kind enough to offer it next time.
Food was good. The service was not on par. Party of 4 and had ordered three main dishes but one dish was forgotten. If the server had taken the time to listen when notified her about the missing dish would have been nice. She brought a wrong dish after and had to wait for the correct dish. Will give them another try as the tom yum katsu was really good.
I’ve always loved eating ramen… It’s just been a comforting feeling having a nice warm spicy soup! One thing i always look forward to when I go out is to eat something satisfying and filling. Ramen has always been affordable too. This place was usually my go to until i moved further! I love that I still pay a visit sometime. Ordering from uber makes it expensive so i always recommend going rather than getting it delivered! The ambiance is very relaxing. Staffs are fast and nice too…
I was craving for since Ramen in this cold night.... ordered Steak Ramen in Spicy Mala broth. This is the first time I tried this location. I had tried the one at Warden and Steeles many years ago.... the food was good, we like the fried rice and Takoyaki.... however, one of the soup quantity was too less, did not even cover the noodle fully! And the spicy mala broth I had was quite salty for my taste bud. I had to add hot water to make it less salty... just like last time, I had to ask the server to get me some hot water to add to my soup .... I wonder if I can request the chef to put less salt?? Overall, I give 4.2 stars!
Great ramen and nice ambience. The beef and pork were delicious! The Spicy Mala broth was the perfect amount of pepper. Our server was friendly and food was served fast. I would recommend for a casual spot for couples/friends.Recommended dishesSpicy Beef Ramen
Food and vibe was pretty good. Everything was authentic and very tasty. Spicy chicken ramen had good spice level, not too spicy and still enjoyable.
I know times are tough right now. But I could have gotten way more food elsewhere for my hard earned money I spent here. I just ordered their famous tender pork ribs ramen on Uber. The biggest piece of meat they added used to be their smallest. I posted a picture to judge for yourself. 1st world problems right? That being said. This is my last time ordering from them.
