I've been wanting to try out this restaurant and finally was able to go this morning for lunch! I got the Black Garlic Ramen & it was absolutely TO DIE FOR. I could eat that every day & never get tired of it! Serving size is well worth the money! The service was pleasant as well. The restaurant itself is clean & a little bit on the smaller side. 10/10 would go again!
Hearing that Ajisen Ramen was really popular in Toronto, I decided to try this restaurant out with it opening up in Windsor. My friend and I came at around noon, and the restaurant was packed. Luckily, we didn’t have to wait long to get a table as there was one empty. Although we were able to get a table, the restaurant itself is really small. I was nearly touching elbow to elbow with the man sitting beside me and was also able to hear their conversation. This made things quite uncomfortable knowing how close I was to others. The food itself also took a while to come out, but this due to how busy they were with dine in and delivery orders. I decided to get the curry pork katsu. For its price, the portion size was decent, but the pork was a little over cooked and hard to eat. The rice also seemed to be old as the rice at the bottom of my bowl was hardened. The staff were very kind and amazing despite being extremely busy. Overall, this isn’t bad, but the name Ajisen Ramen at the Windsor location has not lived up to its reputation.
We got the spicy tom yum Ramen with Shrimp. The tom yum gravy was packaged separately so was the noodle and the shrimps which I really liked. Otherwise it would have made the noodle very soggy had everything been out together in the packaging. I would definitely recommend getting chicken as a meat in case you are going with a Tom yum ramen. The shrimp shells were too stuck to the meat which made the eating experience less enjoyable apart from that I only have good things to say about everything else.
Food is perfect, just what we expected. They are new to Windsor and so do be lenient on wait times as the staff and kitchen are adjusting to the volume of customers. I will definitely be back soon. Thanks Ajisen! :
The food is so amazingly good! It is a perfect comfort food not only for the winter months but also for all year long. Definitely coming back again and again For a unique experience, make sure to try the black sesame ice cream!
I used to live in China a few years ago and I went to Ajisen Ramen many times and loved it. I was so happy to see one open in Windsor and it didn't disappoint. The food was exactly as I remembered it and the prices are reasonable. I already can't wait to go back. Kid-friendliness: It depends on your kid but personally I won't be bringing mine here. It's quite small inside and very noisy when it's full. They also don't have a kids menu or anything. Parking: It's in a plaza so there is lots of free parking available.
The Raman here is is very good! It comes out very hot and the quality of the food is very high. I tried the pork ramen and the meat comes out thinly sliced and there is a good portion of it. The flavor is fantastic. I also tried the filet appetizer in the pan fried gyoza. The food came out fast and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
When it comes to esthetics, Ajisen does not disappoint. The servers and the presentation may fool a newcomer that this franchise has mastered the Culinary arts of ramen! The presentation is great and will make for beautiful pictures for the foodies. However, this excitement dissipates rather quickly after taking the first bite. I went twice and both times the broth was tasteless… how can Mr. Noodles, a relic of our childhood, be tastier than this supposed authentic ramen. The meat portions are non-existent, and the broth does not taste anything as a result you are left with an oily soup reminiscent of the greasy leftovers of a meatloaf. In addition, the service could be better. They are understaffed and it is frustrating for customers to continuously have to remind them to bring more water. I cannot recommend!
We tried the pork ramen and the shoyu sliced pork ramen. The shoyu was definitely better, had more flavour. My pork in the pork ramen had a lot of fat. One whole slice was pure fat. The seaweed salad was tasty but the takoyaki was nasty. Had a very wet inside, like it was uncooked. Very gross texture so we didn't finish that. All in all a decent place. I think I would go again when it's cooler outside.
This ramen was delicious. We can’t wait to go back! We started with the Pork Katsu and Spring Rolls. Both were fresh and crispy. I especially liked the Katsu sauce. For Ramen we had the sliced pork ramen and the Ajisen Ramen. Broth was flavorful. Toppings were fresh and delicious. It was great experience! Next time we will try the potato cakes which looked amazing!
