Story

John Rikala started the business in 1938. He along with partners, Oscar and Ralph Beckman, purchased the Smith Motor Company, which had been selling Fords in the Aitkin area since 1909. John took sole ownership of the business in 1960. John retired in 1970 and his sons Tom & Jerry took over operation of the buisness.

Aitkin Motor Company’s ownership now includes Jerry’s sons, Jeff and Jason, and Tom’s stepson, Jeff Kjelstrom.

Just had a routine oil change and it was good. Good service, they found that the air filter was really fowled up and changed it out. I am already seeing a big improvement on my mileage.

I purchased a classic car from Aitkin Motor's and I live about 375 miles away from the dealership. I worked with Jeff Rikala over the phone through the process. He was honest and upfront every step of the sales process. I arrived to pickup and purchase the car, it was detailed extremely well and serviced so that it would be road worthy for me to drive it for 5-6 hours for the trip back. In finalizing the sale, I dealt with another Jeff and met with the owner Jerry Rikala and was extremely comfortable traveling back with the car that is 38 years old. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone. My only complaint is, I wish they were closer to my home so that I could deal with them on a regular basis! Thank You for restoring the sales and service back into a world that sometimes forgets about the customer.

I went in for help with my driveshaft on 2/18/17, and Jason was extremely helpful, fit me in the schedule that day. Steve, the mechanic was very knowledgeable and discovered the problem in minutes. Overall 10/10 experience, will recommend to anyone.

Best Dealer Anywhere, The Sales and Service Staff are the best, I have bought several vehicles from Aitkin Motors over the years (10+) and have been pleased with every part of the sales and service process.
