Years ago I had poor experiences with this Urgent Care. My last couple of visits were exceptional, besides wait times which aren't their fault. There are doctors shortages across the country and it just is what it is, and people need to accept that instead of taking it out on the staff which may only result in longer wait times if they decide to leave. This has been a rough period of time for me having been injured and the physicians such as Dr Cormack for example really did care and it was displayed through her work. I wanted to say thank you, and give credit where it is due.
First visit to Airdrie Urgent Care. Extremely busy, medical professionals were top notch. I was treated with dignity and respect during my 6+ hours spent here on February 17, 2023. The wait times are not the fault of the medical team, please treat them with respect, and they will treat you the same.
Went earlier today with a friend. Staff were friendly and doing thr best they could. Had to wait 5 and 1/2 hours to get treatment. Which was out of their control. Nurse practitioners were helpful with the treatment, followed up with specialists to make sure we received the right information. Answered all of our questions . Overall a good experience, due to helpful staff at the facility. werbusy and lots of kids
Airdrie’s urgent care is not nearly adequate for our population. There’s only 1 triage clerk, so wait times to be triaged can be an hour, and you can’t sit while waiting. After triage, the wait to see a doctor can be 5 to 11 hours. If you are very sick, very elderly or a child, this is inhumane. Patients coming in by ambulance were required to wait just as long as anyone else, and it doesn’t matter how sick you are, you still wait your turn. A different system needs to be in place for seeing a doctor when wait times are long. Perhaps patients should be allowed to leave after triage, and appointments set up to come back, or a call made to your phone, telling you to come back? Waiting rooms full of sick people with the flu, Covid and RSV is a terrible idea and puts babies, the elderly and immune compromised at great risk. Bring a bottle of water - vending machines don’t work, so you won’t have anything to drink or eat during a long wait Once taken to a room, the rooms are inadequate. The beds are tiny - not large enough for anyone that is larger or taller. There are no pillows, so neck gets very sore, if you are very sick and need to be there for hours. Wait times in the bed area can be lengthy - sometimes there’s only 1 doctor on site. There aren’t nearly enough beds, so Doctors were seeing patients in the x-ray change room, trying to speed up patient turn over. The beds can be clogged up with very sick patients, that need to be there for hours - that contributes to very lengthy wait times. I needed to return 4 times in 2 days, for IV antibiotic. Every time I returned, I still had to wait through triage for about an hour, and and then wait in the waiting room for 3 to 5 hours. They had me sit in a chair with an IV, while patients constantly walked by coughing on me. They need IV rooms with dividers, so people don’t catch Covid, while on IV. The whole system needs to be revamped. Many people are at urgent care because they don’t have a doctor, or can’t get into their doctor. They need to see a doctor, but don’t need to clog up urgent care. We need a different place for people without doctors, and a different way to wait to see a doctor. It would make urgent care much easier for those that really need it, save money and prevent the spread of illness.
Im giving a 4 star because the service we did receive, was actually really good. The Dr and all the nurses treated my daughter really well and were always gentle and very friendly. However, the waiting times really was very bad! I understand this is because there is only 1 Dr working at a time. This boggles my mind, as seeing such long waiting times and very unhappy patients, one would think more Drs would be added to the night time and day time rosters! Our time lines: Arrived at 10pm, got called to sit in a room at 1am, got helped in that room at 2:45am. From here onwards the service was amazing! Frequent checkins, etc.
Staff are friendly and hard working. Been here multiple times with different problems for myself and my children. At times the wait is long but other times we are in and out fast. Thankful for all the help this clinic has given my family.
Terrible experience here. The staff and nurses were incredibly rude and acted like I was a burden to them. I was incredibly sick and incredibly suicidal and they just told me to "stop being dramatic " and when I was waiting for my mom to pick me up they told me to wait outside in the cold while I'm puking my guts out
Went to the urgent care today and as I walked in, it didn’t look like there were too many people. So as I lined up with 2 people ahead of me, I checked the “scan the wait time“thing and it said approximate wait time was 1 hour and 45 minutes. Not too bad, I thought, but as I stood there waiting for my turn 2 ambulances arrived, one after the other. So, being as their need was more dire than mine I got pushed back, I didn’t mind at all though. Because I understand that some people’s needs supersedes others on occasion. And I know for a fact that when my and my family’s need was dire, Airdrie urgent care sprung into action and did not fail to act and give us the best care they could possibly provide. I’m grateful for their hard work and attention so I know when they’re doing their best to provide the care that people need, and my need isn’t as urgent and critical as others, I don’t mind the wait. The triage nurse, Kathryn, that assessed me was such a lovely lady, friendly, and caring. I appreciate you. And Dr. Sujiva Heyn, was also thorough and kind too, Thank you for all that you do. All in all, i was at the urgent care for 4 hours today..not too bad. My patience, I’d like to believe, meant someone else’s urgent needs was met with utmost care and thoughtful diligence.
This place deserves ZERO stars. The rudest staff I have EVER come across, please know that EVERYONE can here you gossiping about the patients that are sitting in the waiting room. Have some class. Do we not have a right to be upset left sitting in the waiting room for over 5 hours in pain and having to leave without seeing anyone? This place is a joke, avoid at all costs.
I was waiting 6 hours for 4 years daughter. Doctor & nurse said about x-ray, pneumonia, tylenol. But lots of grandmother were felt down before my turn. How many hour do I wait for her? Please practice falling down before coming here. And please increase medical teams.
