After three years we closed our doors for good on September 22, 2018.

Story

We want to make people smile. We do this by offering an experience most have never seen. We offer all the service and selections of a modern lounge or restaurant with the added bonus of providing hundreds of board games to play. Not sure where to start? We show you where. We offer suggestions, instruction and can even play with you if you need a guide. Its a fun filled environment that leaves people smiling and surprizes people with the joy of a simple tabletop game. It's a bit of a cross between a bar and and game cafe. Personally I'd prefer if they'd turn the lighting up a bit and the music down since you're there for the board games, no one is dancing or anything. There are some really yummy options on the menu, like the tacos, roti, nachos, and chicken fingers skip the taco salad though. They make good cocktails too. Getting a membership is a good deal if you game there a lot - but make sure the server remembers to give you the discount on your food.
Dark and moody decor, good for an introspective night out. Food was good if not exceptional, but it was disappointing to have the waitress inform me that they were missing ingredients for several items, forcing me and my friend to change our order several times. Hours of operation seem to vary based on business, so if it seems quiet don't be surprised if you are forced to leave earlier then anticipated. Hard to highly recommend, but fine for what it is; a mid quality, mid priced eatery with board games to play.
If your group needs a place to go for game night, this is a great option! Gaming: After Dark allows you to play a per player table fee to access their large collection of board games and sit around and play as long as you like. The table fee is discounted if you also order food or a drink. For gaming I found the lighting to be a bit too dim, and overall the place gets noisy with music and multiple groups of gamers. Best of all they stay open late, even on Sunday. Food & Drinks: Decent food and drinks at reasonable prices. Nothing to knock your socks off but standard pub style foods are a nice option. Alcoholic beverages are available and they have daily deals and specials. On site washroom. Free parking can be scarce because of the area.
Very easy to spend a whole night here. Food is delicious and reasonably priced, and there is a well stocked and we'll staffed bar. All the wait staff are friendly and seem to really enjoy working here. One of the best selections of games I have seen at a board game café for a very reasonable five dollar gameplay fee, as well as regular events make this a staple for anyone who enjoys table top strategy of any kind. As if that wasn't enough, the owner of the establishment is often there teaching games to guests and joining in play.
This is one of my favorite game places to go to. It has a wonderful welcome atmosphere. It brings friends together. In fact you can even make new friends while being their. I love their after board appetizer platter. Its yummy. It comes with a spinach dip, egg rolls and more. I forever love their mussels. Its to die for. I'd recommend going their, since it's open until 3am.
After dark has a good selection of food, beer, and cocktails. I highly recommend one of the alcoholic milkshakes. The atmosphere is cozy and the games are good. The wait staff and bartenders are amazing and very friendly. This is definitely going to be one of my new hangouts.
Large selection of games, only costs $5 to play and great atmosphere. Couches and large tables are available and staff are witty and welcoming. I prefer After Dark rather than accross the board, not as busy, cheaper prices and better atmosphere. Food and drinks are also very good here, highly recommend!
Had to come back within the week after enjoying myself so much. The staff for the most part is friendly and knowledgeable, willing to suggest and explain games if you're unsure. Food and drinks were great. Comfortable chairs and good atmosphere. My only complaint was the volume of the music, we found ourselves having to almost shout to understand each other while playing.
Attended a relaxed X-wing miniatures tournament. After Dark Lounge hosted a great tournament and the service was awesome. Always making sure you had enough to eat and drink. I really liked their mugs as they are doubled walled so not to drop moisture on the board games. A great wall of games to choose from as well.
A fun place to hang out with friends and play some games. There is a vast assortment of games on site to choose from, and the staff is happy to help figure out the rules if you're not familiar. The food is above-average pub fare. Any of their poutines are delicious. If you're imbibing, they have good beer selection, and their BLT Caesar is fantastic.
