A beautiful view of the Bedford Basin & the Halifax Port you won't get anywhere else. This is a lovely, clean park with plenty of benches & picnic tables. Great modern playground that includes a baby swing as well as an accessible swing. Informative signage tells the history of Africville, a feature that I found useful when talking to children about what happened here. Please note: The actual park is open every day. The times listed here on google are for the museum only.
Spacious park at a convenient location with nice view of MacKay bridge. They have informative boards on the history of the location that offer an eye opening perspective on the injustices faced by the community. It is a great spot for a picnic for both small and large groups. Also good for sunset walks. Lots of space for kids to play.
Beautiful quiet memorial park. New interpretive historical signs. Some noise at the end by the church from the container port and where they are filling in the harbour. Dogs allowed on leash. Small playground, picnic tables and benches. Garbage cans and lots of nice young trees. Boat launch in parking lot under bridge. Great spot for family picnic.
It is a beautiful park. Calm, peaceful and has a great view. Also, it has a museum so you can learn more about Africville history. There are many picnic tables and benches. Also, there is a mini park for entertain kids. In short, it is a perfect place for all. Enjoy!
Amazing park. Best for sunsets and overlooking Bedford and Dartmouth from Halifax. Best for the views of the fabulous bridge.
A good place for group playing children inclusive, which is right under McKay Bridge
