I recently had an incredibly positive experience at the Admiral Pub in Burnaby, British Columbia. My server, Oliver, found me the best seat in the house for the Canada and Argentina COPA 2024 opening match, which I was really looking forward to watching.nnThe Admiral feels like a classic Canadian pub where you feel welcomed, almost like you’re on the set of Cheers. It’s full of televisions and projectors, creating a chill and laid-back atmosphere.nnI started with Cajun wings and Cajun fries, both well-seasoned and delicious. The blue cheese sauce was phenomenal, though I would have liked it a bit more chunkier. The calamari was also excellent, capturing the essence of a true calamari dish.nnFor my main dish, I had the butter chicken, formulated by the head chef, who is also the owner. I highly recommend getting the extra flatbread to fully enjoy it—it’s worth it. Oliver also recommended the lamb, which I might try next time after enjoying the butter chicken so much.nnOliver was top-notch, making me feel at home and very personable. He’s one of my favorite servers of 2024, and I highly recommend him if you visit the Admiral Pub.nnEven though Canada didn’t beat Argentina in the opening game, the atmosphere remained lively and friendly. The Admiral Pub is a great spot for watching sports, singing karaoke, and having a good time in North Burnaby. Finding a consistent “third place” in the city is tough, and the Admiral Pub hit every check mark for me tonight.
Decided to head back to my neighborhood pub after so what giving up on it due to inconsistent food and not so great customer service. It was busy when i went it last week during happy hour, and only one server Katie i think was there holding it down. She was doing a great job and was managing her tables very well and remained happy and gave great service even though I can imagine the stress she was feeling .nnThe food still was not great, but was pub worthy. The atmosphere has a lot of potential. They need to keep up some consistency with staff and food to give an overall more enjoyable dining experience.
It was a Saturday afternoon. We visited because of the live band show that day. This pub is a bit old in decor, but it's very spacious and has a proper stage set up.nWe ordered a few drinks and some snacks to enjoy along with the music. Pricing is reasonable.nWe noticed a bulletin board besides the entrance when we left. There are quite many gigs going on.
musky place but surprisingly good food! had the burger. the service was great too and I enjoyed the live music Wednesday
Our waitress Cash was extremely friendly and very down to earth. The food was good too. Loved the Lasagna. We my brother also loved the live band. Good times.
