This is the official page for the Ada County Highway District (ACHD). ACHD is the only countywide highway district in Idaho and manages all of the public streets in Ada County and its six cities, with the exception of state roads. www.achdidaho.org

We proudly serve all of Ada County by providing and maintaining one of the highest quality transportation systems in the U.S.

February 22 2018. Hi guys. It was my understanding that you had an excess of supplies this year. How about taking some of that salt and sand and throwing it on the roads so nobody ends up dead today? I see a lot of scraping of snow that did nothing but expose the ice below it. Other than that, keep up the good effort.

Great job achd. Took 65 minutes to drive from eagle to the mall today and saw no equipment on the road. Awesome

There was a slight problem with the chip seal in front of our home. I called ACHD and a very helpful supervisor was at my house within an hour. The crew was back at my house shortly and the repair was complete. Quite happy!

ACHD has, on two separate occasions, placed construction road signs in my front yard, causing damage to my grass. On the first occurrence, I relocated the signs myself. On the second occurrence, I contacted them to request that they relocate the signs. ACHD replied to my request with a snarky email stating that the signs were on their property and sent me a copy of the property map with red lines indicating my property versus theirs. They also included a statement saying that they would 'be a good neighbor' and go ahead and move the signs anyway. Apparently, they aren't willing to admit fault and also don't know how to read their own map. The map they sent clearly indicated the property where signs sat was my property, not that of ACHD. I had looked at the property lines map prior to emailing them about moving the signs off my property. ACHD also consistently extends project deadlines. They are not expedient at repairing potholes or other road damage.

If I have to pay my taxes I wish ACHD would use my money to do something actually useful. There is so many things that are wrong with this gov. business. 1.) They never pay for cracked windshields from their chip sealings obsession 2.) During the winter time they do a poor job clearing the roads from ice and snow. 3.) Reconstructing roads in the most random places and they announce the project at the LAST MINUTE. 4.) They sure like to back up traffic! It's already a pain in the ass to drive in Boise especially with all the out of staters moving in. "But hey lets make it worse anyways because we have money to burn!" 5.) They don't know how to work traffic lights. The lights would be green for less than 30 seconds and it would be a red light for 2 minutes! In all honesty, it's a lot faster walking or biking than driving your car in this chaos.
