this was my original review *real fast service, but i got charged 110 for 20 minutes of labour cost, and it wasnt discussed. Really makes me hesistant to use the services again* Im choosing to drop my review from 2 to 1, after my experience from this morning. Since i had my locks changed, it has been steadily getting worse. It so tough, my girlfriend 110lbs broke one of their keys trying to open it. Most days we just leave it unlocked since its not worth the effort. After i call a pleasant woman yesterday, and send en email with my bank statement they very coincidentally didnt have my information on file, or my payment info and the broken key. I received a call this morning from a male coworker, asking what happened. Whole call was 2 minutes and 9 seconds, and in that time, i stated the : -Much higher end price then discussed no service charge was mentioned -The key i made with them had broken -The lock steadily getting worse After all that, i get a rude, unproffesional response from the employee, stating "sir you're being ludacris, you dont know what you're talking about, you had a different job then what you're claiming this was probably true, mixed up lock change for key change and you're wasting our time". There are other reviews on here with similar interactions with most likely the same guy. Now, yeah i dont know much about locks, but i dont understand how in this day and age, how someone lacking such baseline customer service and conflict resolution skills is manning a phone. Im sure he was right on some points, but that's not what the call was. I told him i'll be calling back when the female employee is back, or when my email is actually replied. OH, also the actually locksmith was great and im sure im wrong in a few things, but I doubt i'll be using this again, it was very disappointing and just, ugly.
It’s kind of difficult to judge a service when they close hours before their posted closing time. I moved my plans around so I could make it there in time for their 5:30pm closing time only to find they had closed at 3:00pm… Update: I’ve now tried multiple times and they always have the same “open til 3pm” paper taped to their door. If the business hours have changed, this needs to be reflected on the official storefront sign and online.
Needed a lock replaced on my condo's mailbox these are not maintained by Canada Post. Called in the morning and before noon the same day I had a new lock and keys in my hands! This is amazing service and Tony was such a courteous locksmith. I will definitely be calling on Action Lock and Safe for any future lock and key needs. Nice work guys!
I had Tony out to do a very small job on an apartment building mailbox that was no longer functioning. The work itself took him about a 30 minutes. He left for several hours to go and get parts and came back later in the evening. I was charged $157 for labour for 30 minutes. This was double the amount that I was quoted on the phone when I booked it. After I received my bill I called the office to discuss the unreasonableness of the price the next day. I did not challenge the price in person because I had my young daughter with me and wanted to remain as respectful as possible and not lose my cool in front of her. To date, I have not received a return phone call to discuss the unreasonable labour cost. Tony was a nice enough guy but my experience left me feeling completely ripped off. I would not recommend under any circumstances.
I've used them in the past to cut keys, no problem. This time, my boyfriend went in person to get a quote to change our locks. Later, I went in and spoke to a lady. She was very helpful and gave me the same quote to change my locks. I called the next day to schedule an appointment. She said she would call me back, but never did. I called again the next day, and spoke to a man. When asked, he said they were too busy to call me back yesterday. Everything was on track to schedule an appointment, until he told me that the charge would be $50 more than the previous quotes. I asked about the discrepancy. Then he started talking about how he didn't think he could help me. I hung up. No time to deal with more attitude after dealing with a situation where I have to get my locks changed!
Service was quick and friendly. Really good prices. To be perfectly honest, my new set of keys actually works 3 times better than my original set lol.
What a difference an experienced locksmith makes! Needed some spare keys made for some tricky old locks at a new apartment. Staff at Canadian Tire were stumped, and basically told me I was out of luck. Took a chance and visited the folks at Action, who took the time to check what they had that could closely match. Even sent me home with a trial key so I could make sure the thing worked before I went and had them all done. Lovely experience, definitely will recommend!
Lady hangs up the phone multiple times if not interested. Working hours are not accurate.
