Its about time this post gets updated. If you ever considering living here (the hub) or anywhere else with this "company" be prepared for daily fire alarms that go up to one hour because for faulty installations. Illegal and unexplained entries into your unit. And finally whirring machine noises FOR DAYS everywhere around you making it impossible to stay in your own apartment with no explanation or maintenance response from anyone. This entire business is run by unqualified, unprofessional and rude individuals. Nothing promised or advertised actually gets delivered. No basic understanding of deadlines or move-in dates. No respect for the client. Taking advantage of students who don't know better.

Still haven't go at my key deposit of $500 back. I have returned the keys and did contact them countless times. Charged me first and last months rent upfront. Currently I am dealing with the Landlord Tenant Board to take action. Tip for future and current tenants: know your tenant rights. Update: sent an email telling them I will be going to LTB and filing. Then, they finally said my cheque was released. Experience here when I did live: never got a parking spot even though I paid. Always was taken and I was told to park in other buildings.

After two weeks of my move to the HUB (mid october), a brand new building supposed to be, there was a piping problem with the unit above mine and my unit was flooded with water. It took 4 phone calls and more than an hour for the maintenance to show up and after a month and consistent follow up, the damages are not repaired yet. I noticed a new water stain on the ceiling today! Not sure what to do. The fire alarm was malfunctioning for few days two weeks ago, during which the exit stairs were blocked because of painting and very hard to pass. Even after the warning notice from Waterloo fire department, it took two weeks for the building manager to try to fix it, if it is fixed now ! The quality of the material used for the construction is really poor. The work that has been done is so sloppy. Every other day, we get a maintenance notice of entry or find a new problem which needs the maintenance attention. The company is not responsive even when I sent them an email to share the problem. The way they treat the customer is very unprofessional. You will get a quick response when you are signing contract or there is a matter of rent payment. Otherwise you have to send an email and then follow up with your email then make a call to follow up with your follow up and if you are still there, maybe drop by their office to see if you get a response. Overall it is really frustrating.

228 Albert. Units are tiny. No open window. Units are not finished on move in date. Trick you into 3 year contract without proper noticing. Illegal $500 key deposit request. Promised on-site laundry never seen.There are only 2 sets of laundry machines for the first 2 years I lived here for the Entire building. And they never clean them. Your clothes stink after washing. And of course they charge you about $5 for washing and drying your clothes. Roof leaking when it rains when I first moved in. Etc I like living here so much I thumbed up all the reviews with only one star.

Do not lease from this company, if you do get everything in writing. I moved into the HUB. Was not done when I moved in. Was promised parking, a gym, and many other things. Parking was only available after 2 months of living there and was $60/month instead of the promised $40/month because of "higher than expected demand". The gym looks like it was completely canceled and it takes weeks to months to get anything fixed in the apartment. They didn't call me back when they said they would and when I called them a rude guy answered the phone, said he didn't know anything about the issue but I was wrong. I am leaving as soon as possible and I know many others in the same boat.
