Ordered the chef's choice noodles, which came with five preselected toppings. Soup base tasted like water with satay oil and very bland. Beef tendon balls were too sweet. Fish balls tasted mushy. Pigs blood was flavorless. Veggie and pork skin were acceptable at best. Also ordered a side of chicken feet which were very hard and not easy to bite into. The MJ mosaic on the wall is cool. Friendly servers.
Had noodles in soup for lunch. If you has tasted authenic noodles from Hong Kong, you won't like it. But hogskin is sofe. On the side, had chicken feet is average good. Aberdeen Delicious proves various Asian gourmet. I might try something else sometimes. Staff is nice. Place is clean. When customers open the door, the door bell rings like alarm.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn they had sugar-free tea. The Ginger Milk Pudding was delicious. They also were happy to make a sugar-free one for me even though they have previously never done so. It works really well for stomach aches, and regardless makes a tasty dessert. I had both the sweetened one and the unsweet one. In addition, I had their Hong Kong Scrambled Egg sandwich, the House Made Fish Siu Mai, Chinese Detoxicating Tea [], and their hard-boiled tea eggs. I recommend all of them. It's neat to see how they use salt to preserve their lemons. They have jars of them lining the wall.
a bit on the pricy side, but pretty decent snacks and dessert with plenty of variety. they do have expensive tea which have an interesting taste. unsure on the big meals , but good snack options
We went there during weekday lunch time. There was no lunch menu. So we ordered the "Chef recommendation" from the menu: - Crab meat E-mein noodle $22 - Hainanese Chicken Rice $18 - Chicken Feet $2 add-on when purchased over $20 Our comments: - Expensive for the portion that we got - Both were tasteless. Definitely no MSG - Chicken was raw - Soup was salty It's not supposed to - HK milk tea was okay - Staff was friendly There are better options around the area. Definitely will not go back again
Price was a tad on the high side and the milk tea had a slight weird herbal taste. But i do appreciate having honger food late at 1230am.Food: 3/5
I love seeing low rated places like this. I dont know what the hell these 10 michelin star critics are talking about. The food is delicious. I got a seasonal collagen soup that comes with brandy instead of vinegar, the special yi-mein with crab and corn, the curry fish balls with pork rind and chinese radish with broth. And a house made pear drink. So refreshing and delicious to detox. I didnt take a picture of the durian pudding but that was fire too. I ate like henry the 8 and i wasn't bloated or anything. This is quality food and they rely on the braising method and quality ingredients to bring out the flavour. The service was attentive and excellent. Every other table there looked satisfied as well but i can tell theyre not the review writing type. Im glad i went, no regrets. Btw food is expensive everywhere so discussing price is so ignorant. Stay home and eat white rice with soy sauce babes.
Ordered their chief special omelettes rice which is $25. It came in a portion that is about the size of my hand and taste blend. The beef stomach mix was small in portion for $15 and with 4 big radish in the bottom of the bowl. The server was very pushy for the menu as well. He didn’t explain the noodle choice well and my friend add extra items which ends up to $20 for the noodle. We are from HK and felt like supporting the culture and didn’t do much research for this restaurant. Now we look back, we felt like we were being taking advantage of. I seriously don’t think this place will last long. Food was not authentic, service was so so, atmosphere was there but nothing super photo worthy. We ended up paying $78 before tips and no one was completely full or satisfied. Very disappointed!
I don't know why so many bad reviews on here. But my experiencee here are always good. I come by 3 times already, the staff here are welcoming and nice. Their desserts use real ingredients. Their herbal jelly is the most authentic one, other places put too much jelly, but this place you can taste a lot of herbal. Will definitely come back again.
I don’t understand why there are so many bad reviews here. I came late in the day with bad abdominal pain, and all I want was something hot with ginger for comfort. The staff were so nice - they offered me hot water without me asking and made fresh ginger milk pudding with no sugar as I asked. Food was authentic and delicious. I will definitely visit again next time when I’m in town.
