Today I had the Chicken and shrimp platter, found to be crunchier than I prefer but was good. Unfortunately my fellow diner's order was prepared incorrectly and I am not sure whose fault whether the waitress or the kitchen so I removed a star from my previous review. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu and Crayons with picture to colour.
I really enjoyed this place. The food was really good albeit small in portion size. It was expensive but the ladies there were really hardworking and friendly. I met a gentleman outside named Brad who works there and Id say the stop at Rickys was worth that interaction alone. So stop by, relax, eat, tip accordingly, and if your lucky, Brad will say hi to you.
We have gone to this restaurant for the past five years minimum. We enjoy the chicken tenders and pot roast. Unfortunately things have continued to go downhill and tonight will be our last night. We waited 40 minutes for our food. Mine was the turkey dinner and when it came it was so gross looking. The gravy was greenish grey and the small amount of veggies looked like a hospital food portion. Actually, I think the hospital food would have looked better. I was very disappointed as the meal was one scoop of potato with green lumpy gravy spread over 2 thin colder pieces of turkey. It was an amount of dinner that should never cost over $22 for what that was. I sent it back and the owner said he would give me a meal on the house. He gave me 4 chicken tenders I did not want to wait another long time for a meal and we paid for the pot roast and left. We have had other times as well where there was a piece of plastic in the potato, roast beef was burnt and smothered in lumpy gravy and we just kept going back because we like our favorite meals. No more for us. Avoid. Favorite servers are Kennedy, Marie and a few others. It is not their fault and we will miss them.
I would not recommend this location and franchise. First off after waiting ten minutes for a table after lunch rush hour 2:00 pm. We waited 50 minutes for our food, order was missing one of five meals ordered. This is not a family friendly restaurant as we were not offered napkins or cutlery. No one checked up on us to ask for how our meal is and no drink refills. I found the meal sizes extra small. For the price we paid ,small food servings, poor service. Your better off cooking at home.
This place was packed! That shows me it is a popular place. It is in the Best Western Hotel but it was evident there were a lot of locals there. Our server was such a delight. Although she was run off her feet she never pressured us and was patient and made us feel welcome. The food was excellent, the portions were good and the price was fair.
I really enjoy the Ricky's Country Restaurant chain. I find the atmosphere to be family style. I'm not a fan of their all day grill locations, but the Country Restaurant is fantastic. At this location they had some unique decor including an old fashioned wood burning stove. The food was great. My only criticisms are that the Yorkshire pudding which was very dry and burnt tasting. The "crusty roll" was actually dry and brittle on the inside. Other than that, a great place to dine!
One of the better Ricky's I have been to in a while... but they are always busy! So be prepared for a wait even on a weekday. With a busy place comes slower service. Our waitress was friendly and good to deal with! Was a bit of a wait to order food and receive it. But it is was pretty good food. Definitely a country themed atmosphere. Family friendly.
I’m not sure what was going on there this afternoon, but it was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Ricki’s. It wasn’t overly busy at all but our food took over an hour to arrive which isn’t the biggest deal. However when the food arrived, it was awful and not the usual quality. Completely different experience and was not the same food that we usually get at Ricki’s. Our server never even came to ask how the food was. We also saw her giving other tables free fries because the wait for food was so long, but nothing was offered to us. Definitely felt ripped off when we left and will not be returning to this location.
Eat here often and love it. Seniors nites are great with good portions. Recommend the Pot roast with mashed potatoes and farmers sausage soup. For dessert - layered lemon - totally awesome. All desserts are great as are several other menu items. The restaurant itself is has great décor and very clean. Was disappointed when it was closed a few days ago due to lack of staff.
Wonderful old style restaurant with good food and friendly staff - and booth seats which move if you need the extra room ! Also lots of historical items and photos. Good spot for just coffee or even a beer as well as meals. Dietary restrictions: Did not have non-dairy options for those lactose sensitive but no hesitation to ensure food was all non-dairy
