Abbot Roofing (Vexilluminc) was highly recommended to me by a friend who had done extensive research of roofing companies in the Ottawa area. When I met with Kurtis, I was quite impressed by his professionalism. He gave me by far the most precise quote and spent about an hour walking me through various options I had and the pros and cons of each. I decided to use their service. A day after the work had begun, we had one of those summer torrential downpours in Ottawa; the work had to be paused but because the old roof had been removed and the sealing for the new roof had not been completed, water got in and damaged the hard floor in one of my bedrooms. The response from the company was nothing but professional. The crew on site helped me clean up the water and the company later brought in a certified expert who used special equipment to suck out the humidity out of the hard floor, all at the company's expense. They invoiced me for their roofing job only after I was satisfied with the repair of the hard floor. Nobody wants accidents like this, but they will inevitably happen and when they do, you want to be dealing with professionals like Abbot's.

Abbot Roofing (Vexillum Inc.) replaced our roof this summer and we had a very positive experience working with them. Our home inspector recommended Abbot to us, but we did our research as well. Besides the excellent reviews on HomeStars, BBB and Google, Abbot was mentioned a couple of times in a forum thread discussing reliable local roofing contractors. Kurtis (the company’s President) responded promptly to all our enquiry emails and showed great patience to our layman’s questions. Because our interior renovation was running late, we had to postpone the start date of the roofing project to the middle of July, which is the busiest time of the year for most roofing companies. Actually we were prepared for a one or two weeks delay, but their crews appeared on the day we had scheduled and completed the work efficiently. We were also very happy with the clean work site. Professional communication, reasonable price, and outstanding services _ we have no hesitation to use Abbott Roofing again and to recommend it to friends and family.

After going out for several bids for the replacement of the two levels of flat roof of our house in the Manotick area, we decided to go with Abbot Roofing (Vexillum), based largely on the outstanding job they had done with some smaller repair jobs over the past couple of years. We are delighted with our choice. In preparation for the job, owner Kurtis made MANY site visits to ensure the proper scope of work, and explain the options. The final price was VERY competitive, and the work was carried out efficiently and within the time frame we expected. Their site clean-up was excellent. The resulting roof gives us great peace of mind. Even more impressively, we contacted Kurtis a few days ago about adding a few features to the roof to improve drainage, and he immediately came by to carry out the additions, and refused to invoice us for this significant addition.
